This was our fourth visit to Chelsea House, each time we reserved a king room and are very happy with our stay! This year they remodeled our room and it was great! B & B’s in Key West are mostly very old homes that have been converted. They need restored ( some again), rooms and pluming added into a smaller older era, property lines defined and landscaping. Chelsea House has done a very good job with all these things without loosing the original charm! The owner has made improvements every year and that usually means they are here to stay and also care about what have. The room we always come back to was improved but still has a quirky shower door opening, funky knobs on the dresser and the ac was a little weak, on the other hand, the wood floors were new, power outlets everywhere for electronics, new tile, toilet and vanity station! We just love walking out of the french doors onto a too small of an old porch, but hey!, you just can’t get that with the new five star places! The people there are quite friendly but will also respect your peace & quiet and seem to know what mood you’re in. One thing you do get that is hard to come by in KW is parking! Free parking! The area does require some bit of walking to better attractions but there are some real gems and better shopping nearby, also near gay or stripper bars. Not to worry, the area does seem to be safe enough location and we never had a problem there! In Key West we have stayed at the $600.00 night waterfront – to the small B&B with no parking or balcony / porch. For us, Chelsea House fits the bill! Do your research and find the room that suits you, the staff will mail you a layout map of the rooms and you can choose the one that suits you.  You can’t go wrong booking with Historic Key West Inns!

Our family of 7 ( including our dog) had a wonderful time at the Chelsea House. Service at the front desk was excellent. All three rooms were nicely decorated. The location is great, and it is truly a pet friendly hotel. We will definitely come back. Thank you for a great experience.

We only had time to stay one night but found the Chelsea very nice, the room was modern and upgraded with a nice new tiled bath. No real complaints but perhaps a few minor suggestions. We choose THIS B & B because it had off street parking.

In the new bathroom, a simple hook for a towel/clothes on the shower partition is needed as the glass door swings that way. Maybe another small table to put our things on-but other than that everything fine.

If I ever get back to KW I will stay there again. You asked what we did: walked the whole town for hours! Met the chickens and then the Hemingway cats! Did the Butterfly Museum, Hemingway House and Mel Fischer Museum. We ate at Duffy’s across the street on the recommendation of the very nice desk clerk (we walked so much that was about as far as we could go at night after a dip in the pool)

Please give our regards to the clerk who was very pregnant and expecting on MY birthday (6 degrees!!)

Chelsea House is great. Staff was very informative,  accommodating & kind. It’s  location is perfect. Only walk 2 blocks & you’re at Duval St.  Restaurants are all right there. Awesome that it accepts pets too. Will definitely stay here again! :-)

The Chelsea House was so cute and charming. We were very happy with our room and private balcony. It was also a great location- close to Duval Street, in between Southernmost Point and Mallory Square. We didn’t use our car the whole weekend. There were two slight negatives, one being price and the other a firmer bed than we are used to. Overall we had a very nice stay and will probably stay again next time we come to Key West.  The best part…. the wonderful young woman at the front desk. She knew every guest by name and she was so nice and helpful. She even took pictures of my husband and me. I’m not sure of her name but it started with an L.

We had a marvelous time at the Chelsea House. Right from the beginning we received a very warm welcome from Betsy, front desk. She was extremely helpful in explaining all the amenities of the hotel and gave us great recommendations for dining. We stayed at room 24C, which was all the way on the top floor. It did have some steep steps to get to our room, but it was great exercise and the view we had from the balcony area was worth the steps. Our room was simple but very clean and was more than sufficient for our needs. The breakfast was superb, bread, bagels, croissant, yogurt, fruits, juice, cereal, coffee and tea, and they did not skimp, the servers were constantly attentive to the breakfast area ensuring there was enough supply and everything was kept very clean. The breakfast was served by the pool, which gives a nice ambiance.

There was a nice pool, which we did not use, but there were a few other guests that we saw using. The hotel is 2 blocks from Duval Street, once on Duval there are about 5 blocks before you get into the busy area of downtown. We really enjoyed and highly recommend 915 Duval Restaurant which Besty recommended to us. It was amazing! We also enjoyed Caroline’s and of course our all time favorite Sloppy Joe’s for late night music and fun.

Overall, we had a great time and would stay at the Chelsea House again, although, I think we may try their sister hotel, Key Lime Inn, next door just for a change and see how that compares. Thank you, Betsy, and the Chelsea House staff for all the thoughtfulness and attentiveness to your guests.

We had a great time at your accommodations but I do not think that would have been possible without the help of Betsy.  She is the best!  Gave us great suggestions – all of which turned out to be very good experiences. If I have anyone going in that direction, I will tell them about your place and to talk to Betsy.  We had a great time!

My wife and I have stayed at the Chelsea House for our two vacations in Key West. We planned our vacations to coincide with our wedding anniversary, and we could not have picked a better place to stay! Warm and inviting, clean and bright, great staff, could not have asked for anything more!!!

Thank You

P.S. I liked the Historic Key West Inns a while ago on Facebook!

We were there on July 2012, we loved it! The Chelsea House makes you feel like home. The continental breakfast was a plus as was the free parking in the property. This 2013 went back to Key West and decided to stay at the Chelsea again, great experience and would recommend to friends and family! Great stay for an awesome place like Key West! The only thing that the room was missing was an iron, other than that was perfect! See you next summer!

Wonderful stay, the young Lady at the front desk was very helpful and a credit to your business. The room was very clean and functional, a little small in size but big enough. Great location, not too far from Duval street and a bike hire place.
