We have been regulars at Chelsea House for over 15 years & each time we walk through the doors there is a sense of coming home. Lyann is beyond enthusiastic & friendly. She went out of her way to meet our needs, even rescuing us with an umbrella & calling the Ferry (on her own) to be sure we had the correct departure times.  Brian gave excellent dinner & activity suggestions & fun was had by our entire group.

One suggestion- please add  an additional mirror (lengthwise is perfect ) on the wall or back of door so more than 1 person can get ready at a time.  With 4 ladies in a  large room it would definitely help :)

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Chelsea House over the July fourth week. It was adorable, clean and centrally located. It is exactly as pictured. The staff was super helpful and readily available. We had a balcony and found it very enjoyable. It had accessible parking and was in a great location. The only drawback was the continental breakfast. We had planned on eating breakfast there every morning, but elected to spend money and go else where. I have already recommended it to friends and would come back again myself.

My husband and I stayed here for a couple nights (7/12-7/14) and absolutely loved it!! The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful when we were trying to find good places to eat and visit. Hotel was very clean and had a nice pool area. Very close to Duval St. Check-in and check-out was very fast and easy. We will definitely return :)

I stayed at the Chelsea House for only one night for my birthday and I wish that I could’ve stayed longer. The location is great, as was the staff. My boyfriend asked the staff where to go get cupcakes for my birthday and the front desk staff was very helpful. They found Key West Cakes for him and it was the best cupcake I’ve had!

The hotel was clean and quiet. It had a relaxing atmosphere and a welcoming feel. The pool was small but clean. my only recommendation would be to resurface the deck right next to the pool. I felt like I could’ve gotten a blister while walking barefoot. I loved that breakfast was served by the pool as well!

All and all, it was an excellent stay and I would recommend it to everyone.

It’s hard not to have a great time in Key West.  After staying at the Albury Court property a few times (and having some issues with a not helpful desk clerk/concierge), we decided to try a new hotel.  The Historic Key West Inns offer great locations and good deals, so we took a look and and decided to give the Chelsea House Pool and Gardens on Truman a shot.  Right across from the Basilica of St. Mary’s and a couple of blocks off of of Duval, the Chelsea House has a TREMENDOUS location!  Lyenna was amazing at check in.  She was nice, courteous and very helpful.  Ten minutes after we arrived at out room, Lyenna stopped by to make sure that we were settled in and that everything was well (unheard of at the Albury Court for us).  The first room we were in was beautiful, but we had an initial issue with the safe.  Lyenne was right there trying to make it right.  Later on in the heat of the day, we discovered that the room was not cooling.  Dennis had one of the maintenance engineers come to our room within ten minutes.  The a/c was working correctly, but the lack of roof insulation (beautiful ceiling, though!) and small a/c unit pointing in the wrong direction left the bed half of the room HOT.  Staying in Key West in July, a freezing cold room to come back to after being out in the heat all day is CRITICAL.  Dennis was extremely helpful.  He not only got us into a cold room, but upgraded us at no charge.  He also helped us move our luggage and ice chest upstairs!  Later on Desiree, another concierge, offered suggestions on new places for dinner — very nice and helpful.

The issues with the original room not withstanding, we were treated so nicely that we decided to extend our stay one more day (with the help of calling the reservation department) at a reduced rate since they had vacancies.  We originally booked a package (Sebago snorkeling half day trip that was ok), so we had to speak to the 800 number at Dennis’ suggestion.

All in all, we had a great time… a great experience and look forward to coming back to Chelsea House.  The grounds are beautiful, and the pool very nice.  The only reason we couldn’t rate it 5 stars is the initial issues with the first room that cost us some time.

Thank you Dennis, Lyenne, and Desiree!

My husband and I enjoyed our three nights this past weekend.  The only let down was the breakfast, we were hoping for a hot choice. The room was clean.  The A/C in room one was not very strong.  My husband complained about being warm when sleeping.

The Chelsea House was a referral from a colleague of mine. We were pleasantly surprised. Super charming inn with exceptionally friendly, helpful service. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. I will recommend this location over and over again! Thank you for the great experience!

We really enjoyed our stay with you July 17 – 20, 2014. The young women who greeted us on arrival was extremely pleasant and very helpful. Dennis went above and beyond as well!

The room was large and nicely done. Our stay was very quiet and the AC worked great, which was critical because of the July heat. Suggestions for room improvement … add some towel bars in the bathroom. Fix the bathroom door, it doesn’t close properly. Provide bottled water in the room daily.

This is our second stay with you and we will definitely be back! Thanks!

We stayed here for three nights and it was lovely.  They checked us in ASAP-it was super quick and easy since we made reservations online.  They made sure to let us know when people would be in the office until etc. as well as to let us know about local events going on. We had a room near the pool that was connected to the deck area by a lovely little porch that had a nice seating area on it-which made it super easy to get breakfast and gave us somewhere to sit and eat it. The room was a good size (though a little tight near the bed but big enough to get in and out)-and the bathroom was as well. It was clean, quiet, and cozy…just what we needed for our get away. The cleaning staff comes in the afternoon which was great since we slept in a few days we were there. It is super close to Duval street and also has plenty of parking-which is a must in Key West. The staff was all very friendly and I would definitely recommend it over a chain hotel-it is cheaper, nicer and closer to the attractions. We can’t wait to stay here again.
