We stayed at the Cypress House Hotel in November of 2014 for four days and our stay was outstanding. This was our first trip to Key West. We researched several different lodging options – comparing everything from cost to location to amenities. There is no doubt we picked a gem with the Cypress House and we knew it from the moment we exited the cab.

We were greeted very warmly upon arrival. The fine gentleman at the front desk grabbed a bag for us as we were shown to our room. We booked a standard king room but we were upgraded to a balcony king at no charge. The room was great and the shared balcony was perfect for relaxing, absorbing the sounds of Key West and for enjoying a fine cigar. Cypress House does have a small but beautiful pool with towels available poolside. The location of the Cypress House was perfect. Just two blocks off of Duval Street with Mallory Square just a 5 minute walk.

Every morning an awesome complimentary breakfast was served downstairs in the outdoor patio room. Fruit, bagels, egg burritos, biscuits and gravy, juice, coffee and much more. We were able to enjoy a hearty breakfast that lasted us well into the afternoon. Liming hour was then offered in the late afternoon and once again – awesome. Liming = complimentary light food, a rotation of adult beverages and an opportunity to talk with fellow vacationers. After that, dinner was enjoyed all over Key West – Cuban cuisine to seafood.

Every member of the staff we interacted with was super friendly – couldn’t have been better. If there was one item that was slightly inconvenient it would be this (no fault of the Hotel). Our room was positioned on the corner of the hotel and below us during the mornings was a very busy intersection. Car and truck traffic, periodic horns and the occasional loud pipe cycle. This inconvenience was not enough to knock this gem from our 5-star grade though. In a strange way, the morning traffic actually acted as an alarm clock for us.

Our first trip to Key West was full of great memories and the Cypress House certainly played a large part. Friendly, affordable, clean, great location, and the breakfast and liming can help save on your food costs too. We recommend!! Guaranteed we will stay here again!!

This is our 2nd year staying in the Cypress House.  We have stayed in other bed & breakfast houses in Key West and by far the Cypress House is our top pick.  The Cypress House is right in the heart of old town close to all the action but is still a peaceful, quiet, relaxing hotel.  The pool area is very nice and the covered patio is a wonderful place to have breakfast, a relaxing cocktail or just a place to hang after exploring the island.  The staff is friendly and always ready to offer their knowledge and advice of the island and things to do or where to dine.  Dennis & Scott from the front desk are wonderful to deal with and go out of their way to stop and chat and help with anything you need.

The rooms are beautifully decorated & spacious with comfy beds and the bathrooms have nice large walk in showers. The house keeping staff is friendly and do a great job, our room is always clean and stocked with fresh towels daily.  We stay in the main house and always request a deluxe room with access to the porch as this is a nice place to sit and unwind.  The breakfast here is wonderful and offers a hot dish along with various cereals, muffins, bagels, fruit, yogurt and more, there really is something for everyone.  One of the best things is the liming hour where guests gather for a cocktail and appetizers, we have met people from all over hanging at the liming hour.  The only negative is if you have a car there is no parking at the hotel but have to park at the city garage a few blocks down.  We definitely will be back next year and are already dreaming about our next stay.  See you guys next year.

My wife and I stayed in the Cypress House (guest house) when we came to participate in the Key West 1/2 Marathon.  Loved it!  Location was perfect…close enough to Duval Street to enjoy all its action, yet just far enough to retreat at our leisure, and close enough to the harbor to dine and wander.  Accommodations were fabulous…quiet room afforded comfort (we spent as much time relaxing on the private porch as we did anywhere!)  Guest services personnel were superb and as accommodating as any top-rate hotel in the country.  Thanks especially to Kelly and Dennis for going the extra miles with smiles and helpful attitudes throughout our stay!   Atmosphere was terrific…the happy hour and breakfast options allowed us to mingle with other guests and the local feline!  Great added touch to prepare us for a full day and to relax us at the end.   We hope to return again soon!

Everything about our stay was terrific starting with the suggestion during check-in that we use the just down the street public parking garage, and the handy payment as part of check-in. The first floor room was perfect for my wife who does not enjoy flights of stairs.

I enjoyed the original non-paint scheme on the Kemp House siding.  The pool size was perfect as one could actually swim in it and not simply “bob” around.

The breakfast were more than ample and very delicious and the afternoon “liming hour” with sangria’s was perfect.

Finally, location, location, location; perfect! Nearly everything to be seen in Key West is within walking distance and the beaches are within a short drive around the corner.

Perfect all around!

My first trip to Key West and I am glad we chose Cypress House.  Quaint, charming and a wonderful location.  The breakfast was great and we loved the liming (happy) hour!  My favorite – Jane the cat!  Please continue to take care of her!!!

the hotel is in an ideal location. you can walk everywhere. the breakfasts were high quality and class as were the liming apps and drinks. our room was very large w super high ceilings. very southern like. the 2 things I would have preferred would be loungers at the pool and a much bigger pool. medium is more common in the keys though.

Loved our room (#22)!  Very spacious & clean, comfy bed, nice porch area, very secluded and quiet.  Close to Duval and all the places we like to explore.  Check in/out was a breeze, staff friendly & accommodating.  We will definitely stay here again & would gladly recommend to others.

This was our first visit to Cypress House – recommended by a friend.   We found our rooms to be well appointed, beautifully decorated and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in (wish we could have brought them home with us).  We had the deluxe king with porch and really enjoyed the room as well as sitting on the porch in the morning for breakfast and evenings for a night cap.  The service we received from the minute we arrived until we left was professional, friendly and fun.  They entire staff made sure that our visit was perfect.  Really enjoyed meeting the other guests at the Liming Hour – that was a nice respite from the outside world.  Check-in was fast/efficient and friendly.  I believe Dennis checked us in – he even helped us get our bike rentals straight after we were left without bikes due to shortage at one of the local rental  companies.  Within 30 minutes Dennis had bikes delivered to us.  Thanks again!!  Hope to see you guys soon – we will be back!!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Cypress House very much. Check in was fine. I was aware that parking is an issue and was ok with the fact we would be parking a few blocks away with additional charge. Kelly was friendly at check in and personally took us to our room a few houses away. Our room was clean, spacious and quiet. I would advise immobile people to request a ground floor room due to no elevator because is a historic house. We felt the pool area was lovely and a peaceful oasis. Breakfast was delicious. We loved the hotel and the location. We would recommend the hotel and hope to return soon!
