Our stay was so relaxing, from the relaxing court yard to large walk in shower. The only thing I would like to have had was a coffee pot in the room.

Andrea and I came to Key West on Friday, November 23, 2012 and stayed two nights at the Cypress House. Though this was my tenth trip to Key West in the past 25 years, and Andrea’s second though the first was simply a day visit while on a cruise, I had never stayed any place outside of a hotel. This time my intention was to do what I could to introduce Andrea to the side of Key West beyond the Duval Street experience and try to bring a little more historical imagery into our time spent on the island. The centerpiece to that was to stay in an inn somewhere in “the neighborhood” and the Cypress House was my choice. We truly enjoyed the experience.

It was so nice to be away from Duval Street, to readily access and walk the surrounding streets, to try the establishments that the “Duval Crawlers” generally don’t visit, and relax somewhat. I did throw a lot at Andrea by us walking a substantial portion of west Key West but she did enjoy it. Yes, we were on Duval Street (sadly it has turned into any other tourist trap I have been to and has lost so much of its charm of so many years ago, but oh well), yes we found a few new places coupled with a few old haunts, but we knew that each night we would return to quiet comfort of the Cypress House.

The staff were terrific, the restfulness was comforting, the Happy Hour was “happily enjoyed” and the breakfast sparked the start of each morning. We had a wonderful stay at the Cypress House and if and when we once again are able to return to Key West you can be assured that we will try to include the Cypress House, or maybe one of the other related properties, in our consideration for our island habitation. As well, I will encourage others in our circle who might want to visit Key West, to strongly consider experiencing what we did by staying at the Cypress House.

Thank you for helping us have a truly enjoyable visit to Key West.

Cordially,

Marty Piepenbrok, and in concert with Andrea Haze

We spent 5 nights there in October. The entire staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean, had beautiful details and was spacious. It also had a nice second floor patio deck which we used every night watching the crowds and having some wine we bought. The breakfast in the morning was more than the usual continental breakfasts offered by others hotels in town and early evenings they had this Liming Social Hour with light snacks and a drink that changed every day. We had a nice time talking to other guests there too. Great location one block from Duval Street. All in all a very, very nice experience and we will definitely stay there again.

It was my first trip to Key West, and the staff at the Cypress House was very nice and friendly. They were also very helpful in giving me directions to attractions and other sites I was interested in.  The Cypress House will most certainly be the choice for my next visit to Key West!

Our thanks to all the staff at Cypress House. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfasts and happy hours were more than we anticipated, and you have some of the friendliest and helpful staff.

The location was perfect…right smack dab in the middle of all the places we wanted to be at with our Parrothead friends, yet quiet enough to sit and relax by the pool.

Can’t wait to come back some day!

When we booked, Kevin was great on the phone. When we arrived, he greeted us – was so friendly and accommodating – even though they had just moved the office.  Loved the hotel, our room, “social hour”, and breakfast.  Nice to be so close to the bars, restaurants, etc.

Would definitely recommend Cypress House and will stay there next time we are in Key West.

We stayed in the corner room with a king bed. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and you could fit an army in the shower.

We booked our room with Scott who was also working when we arrived. He was extremely friendly and very helpful.
The pool was nice with a relaxing setting. There is a covered front porch with a swing and there are tables and chairs outside of the rooms on the second story porch as well. There was a daily complimentary egg breakfast and margaritas for happy hour. Parking is also pretty simple. You can look for nearby street parking, or park in the garage with a Cypress House pass displayed. This gets you a better price; about 10 bucks a day. You are two blocks from Duval St. which makes getting to restaurants, shops, museums, tours, and more (bars) very convenient. In the other direction is quick walk to the docks where you can explore several other shops, restaurants, boat charters, exhibits, live music, the Mel Fisher treasure display/shop. You can also see huge tarpon swimming and feed them here.

The Cypress House was an excellent choice for my girlfriend and I. We would highly recommend it. Thanks to everyone at the Cypress House, and a special thanks to Scott!

This bed and breakfast was a home run for us and the group with whom we were traveling. We had a king size room, which was very spacious. I was a little concerned about the location, since we were across from the kitchen, but we did not hear any noise. Our room was at the front of the building, so we did experience noise from traffic throughout the night, which is not the fault of the B&B. The Cypress House is within walking distance to Duval Street, only two blocks, which is very convenient for shopping and dining. The rooms were cleaned promptly, everyday, and the breakfast was great. They had one hot option everyday, along with yogurt, fruit, cereal, muffins, etc. They also have happy hour from 6 – 7 pm and they have a drink of the day, along with vegetables, dip, chesse, crackers, and a hot item. We were there most nights for this, and it was fantastic. The staff were so accommodating. Every need we had, they fulfilled. When we needed extra towels, we had them immediately. They booked a jet ski excursion, and provided the towels for that. Our air conditioner stopped, in the middle of the night, and first thing in the morning, they were there to replace it. I cannot say enough about Eli, he was great to us, the entire time we were there, along with all the others, I cannot remember all their names. The B&B also has a pool, which we used numerous times. It was very humid the week we stayed in Key West, and this was great for cooling off at the end of the day. Based on the location, rooms, and service, I feel you get a lot for the price. If we return, I would definitely stay here again, and will certainly recommend it to others planning a trip to Key West.

We absolutely loved this place! My husband and I stayed at the Cypress House for our honeymoon and were beyond please with our stay. Our room was gorgeous (the balcony right off of our room had great views, tall ceilings, modern bathroom, and there was even a beautiful mural on the ceiling which was a nice sight to wake up to each morning). Aside from the room, the hotel offered a lot of other worthwhile things: great staff, hot breakfast, a nice pool, and daily happy hour. The staff members made sure we had everything we needed and any requests we had were fulfilled within minutes (Eli was especially wonderful). They even suggested boat cruises and other activities we were interested in. The pool was refreshing and located next to the tables for both breakfast/happy hour. The breakfast offered each morning was delicious and full of variety (with at least one different hot item daily)…I especially enjoyed the breakfast burritos. The happy hour also changed daily and included small appetizers. For example, during our stay we had a margarita night, wine night, sangria night (all you can drink within the hour) and appetizers such as grilled brie sprinkled with almonds, crab dip, multiple cheeses, veggies, and fried conch fritters, etc. Gathering for both breakfast and happy hour was also a nice way to meet other hotel guests without the feeling of being obligated to do so. The location is also something worth mentioning. Cypress House is located two blocks from the main strip on Duval Street so it was close enough to walk in less than 5 minutes but far enough that our balcony was quiet and peaceful. We are already planning a trip back in February 2013. If you visit Key West, stay here. We will gladly be back!
