My husband and I stayed in Key West for the first time in August, 2014.  We knew it would be hot but we wanted to get away and the Cypress House was just what we needed.  Check-in was simple and quick and Kelly was extremely helpful.  He showed us around the facility and told us some great places to make sure and visit.  Our room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast by the pool was great every morning.  We will definitely visit again!

We stayed 5 nights at the Cypress House.  From the moment we checked in, we felt welcomed and at home.  The room was exceptionally clean!  The bedding was comfy.  Our front porch was a great place to chill and people watch. The pool was long enough to do a few laps! It was nice to eat breakfast by the pool.  Liming hour was a fun time to socialize with other guests.  Scott was so friendly and helpful, and he gave great recommendations for places to eat and visit.  The location was perfect. We did wish that smoking was not permitted by the pool.  A few times we left sooner than we wanted because someone lit up beside us. Our favorite Key Lime Pie was Matthesons.   Sloppy Joe’s was nonsmoking :).  Duettos pizza and gelato was yummy. Namaste sailing and snorkeling charter was a blast.  Pro fishing guide, Captain Kyle, made our day fishing a success!  So many things to do, but Cypress House was a great place to unwind and do nothing!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Cypress House! Not only are the rooms lovely and cozy, but the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful, and breakfast and liming hour by the pool was quite the hit as well! Convenient location, and even though it’s located walking distance from all the fun, it’s a quiet, tranquil spot for ultimate relaxation! We would definitely recommend (and would love to return to) the Cypress House!

Had a great stay two night stay recently at the Cypress House. After living in Florida for the past twelve years, my wife and I decided it was time to visit Key West. The Cypress House really was the highlight of the trip. After walking around, touring in the hot Florida sun, the Cypress House room was a perfect refuge. Very well maintained, great pool area, cool a/c, large walk in shower, and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in outside of my own.  My only complaint was with the parking. On check out day, a commercial plumber took the only parking spot used by the guests for checking in/out. I had to pay to park a good distance up the street and tote my luggage from our room on the second floor main street to half way down Caroline Street. Needless to say, i was not very happy about that. I was not able to find the clerk until I had finished loading everything.  The Clerk was apologetic but not much he could do about it. Nevertheless, great Inn with plenty of charm.

We stayed for 2 nights in August. Our first room had a problem with the door lock- we told the desk and were moved immediately to an upper floor room facing the street. It was great! Clean and comfy. The people at the front mentioned it might be noisy from the street traffic but it didn’t bother us at all. The happy hour had a nice selection of snacks and drinks. Breakfast was good- set up in the kitchen off the pool area. We found the place to be comfortable and the staff welcoming and helpful.

The Cypress House was a nice place to stay. Location was great! Very close to Duval. Our room was on the third floor. It was very clean, bright and pretty large with a large bathroom. A/C was a window unit which worked well to cool the room. It was 89 degrees and humid outside. The pool is large for a Key West inn. Most are very small and theirs is a good size while still surrounded by island plants and trees. The  front staff was super nice! We got to the inn very early in the day, well before check-in time, but the staff showed us around and welcomed us to enjoy all the property until our room was ready, and we felt genuinely welcome. The hallway of the Cypress House is not air conditioned. Of course, this is an old inn so I can’t say this is a negative, just wanted to note. The only real negative for us was the very loud street noise. Our room was on the corner closest to a busy intersection and on the third floor. Again, no fault of the inn, just wanted to mention in case future visitors are light sleepers.  Overall, it was a nice stay and I would stay there again.

First, I would like to thank the staff at Cypress House for their personal service and attentiveness to our needs.  Thank you.  You are all amazing!

The Cypress House Historic Inn is a collection of  3 homes, dated from 1888, and beautifully decorated with a mix of antiques and modern amenities.  Our room had a beautiful antique shiferobe.   The bathroom had all the modern conveniences yet tastefully decorated to blend in with the historical feel of our room.

Cypress House in is conveniently located blocks away from the Key West Express.  We were able to walk with our luggage to the Inn from the Port.  We were also one block from Duvall St., which is the main street with shops, restaurants, and entertainment.  That said, just about any street we walked or rode our bikes on had a something that would interest anyone.

The staff works with a bicycle rental company that dropped off our rental bikes to the door and picked them up from the door.  Talk about convenient!  Since the Key West express doesn’t take off for Fort Myers until 6pm, we didn’t know what to do between check out time and 5pm.   Again the staff accommodated us and allowed us to keep our luggage safe, while we were allowed to use pool, bathroom, and walk around town to do more sight seeing.

Our room was spotlessly clean.  Every morning breakfast was served with a selection of hot or cold food.  “Liming Hour” was also another perk, cocktail and a light snack before dinner around the pool under the sheltered patio.  Even though it was 90+ degrees, the outdoor patio never felt hot as the fans and shade kept us comfortable.

My husband and I both enjoyed our visit at the Cypress House.  As we’re not big drinkers, we did hang around the pool and the staff took time to talk to us as if we were a family member visiting their own home.

We give Cypress House 5 pineapples, 5 stars.   If we ever return to Key West we wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

My husband and I live in Miami, and we have been in Key West many times.  Most of the times we stayed in big chain hotels, Westin, Casamarina, etc. Once we stayed at Duval House and we liked it.

We loved Cypress House!  We already recommended to my friends on FB!

The room was perfect, bathroom renewed, great AC, nice bed and bedding!  The room was by the pool.  We loved the concept adults only! Outstanding personnel, since the check in to the check out only excellent service. Great breakfast and Happy Hour.  Ahh, 2 blocks from Duval!  We’ll be back for sure!
