We  just returned from our first Key West adventure. Our room was great, always clean, and cool. The staff was so helpful. They helped with excursions and dining. Dennis was so great. He was a joy. We never had breakfast because we enjoyed going to Pepe’s. However, the evening drinks and snacks at the Liming were great. Great time to meet other guests. We enjoyed ourselves and would come back again. We would gladly recommend this hotel collection to anyone. Thanks for making our stay enjoyable.

The Cypress House and staff exceeded my expectations.  This historic house is centrally located in Old Town, we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and do.

The Cypress staff was always friendly and helpful.  Our room was always cleaned in a timely manner.   This is the only place we will stay when visiting Key West.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everyone was courteous, but Danielle made our stay very special.  Please tell her thank you for the suggestion for our fortieth anniversary dinner.  The  arrangements she made for our evening were outstanding and the champagne when we returned made the night unforgettable. It was no lie to say you are in the middle of everything. If we ever get to return, we will definitely stay here. Our thanks again, especially to Danielle.

Thank you for a great stay, staff was excellent and very helpful. They handled my request of a “flat” pillow without a blink! Would recommend without reservation!

We stayed two nights at the Cypress House on a trip down from Ft. Myers Beach. (we took the Key West Express)
The location of the Cypress House is absolutely ideal, and we really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a Queen room (#13) which was very small but cutely decorated and remodeled, and it was very private, which was great. Room #13 has it’s own gated deck adjacent to the pool area, but the fence is 6 feet high and solid, so we felt nicely isolated in our own little corner of the property. Breakfast was tasty, the service was friendly, although we were a bit underwhelmed by the “happy hour”………no big deal, we went in with no expectations for that.
One minor hiccup that we had was our smoke detector was chirping at us the first night in the room. We had to call maintenance at 11pm when we returned from Duval Street and they arrived very efficiently to change out the battery. Unfortunately, it continued to chirp intermittently for the rest of the night which was a little frustrating. I told Dennis about it in the morning, and he had a new one installed for us by that evening. It was nobody’s fault, and was just a quirky problem that the staff took care of.

We rented bikes for the duration of our stay in Key West, which was ABSOLUTELY the best way to get around. They are more efficient than walking, so you can cover all the ground you need to cover to see everything, but there are no parking challenges that you would encounter with a car. We also rented an electric car for a half-day, which was kind of fun, but logistically it was a pain in the butt due to parking.

Back to the Cypress House, they did a nice job and were priced similarly to other options we explored, and like I said originally their location is SO perfect. If we return to Key West, we would not hesitate to stay at the Cypress House again.

Let me say that I was very happy with my selection to stay at The Cypress House, in Key West.  It was the first time my husband and I stayed at a bed and breakfast.  We were more than happy with the place.  The location is great for someone who doesn’t want to be right next to Duval Street but yet close enough to walk to everything.   The location is a plus.  Breakfast and the Liming Happy Hour was great everyday too.  The only suggestion I would make is if there could be someway to put chase lounges by the pool.  Even one or two just to give folks that want to lay in the sun an option.  Other than that I wouldn’t change a thing.

I, personally, am a people person so your staff from the front desk to the person helping out in the kitchen was exceptionally helpful and genuinely nice.   I plan to revisit Key West someday and I hope my future experience is as good as this one.

Loved the ‘Liming’ happy hour by the pool. When we return to The Keys we will surely come back. Great location.

We have been to Key West many times, but this was the first time we stayed at Cypress House.  The room was clean and inviting, the staff was wonderful, and the grounds are well-kept.  Couldn’t have been happier!

We have been coming to Key West for over 20 years and have vacationed in many different accommodations.  We were very happy with our experience here and the value we got for the money spent.  The location was a big factor in us choosing to stay here as it is close to the Marina, Duval and Pepe’s (our favorite breakfast spot on Caroline).

The room (#11) was a nice size and we loved the newly renovated bathroom – the shower being our favorite.  We were right up on Simonton so we did hear traffic going by – but we can sleep through anything - so that did not matter to us as it might those who are light sleepers.  We also enjoyed the little patio with 2 chairs and a table right out front of our room.  The only ‘complaint’ being that those nice hardwood floors needed a good cleaning.  You could not walk around without having some dirt on the bottom of your feet.

We really enjoyed breakfast & reading the paper by the pool in the morning.  What a nice spread:  Bagels, pastries. breads, cereals, yogurts, fruits, milk, juice, coffee & tea and always something warm cooked up each morning.  Very nice considering this is not a Bed & Breakfast.  The paper (Citizen) was available each morning which we really appreciated.  I must say that I did not like the coffee (coffee snob that I am) so I hit either 5 Brothers (on Southard); Cuban Coffee Queen (on Caroline at Marina); or Plantation Coffee House (on Caroline) – Oh, and there is a Starbucks on Duval.

After gallivanting during the day, we always made it back to the Cypress House before happy hour (5:00) for a quick jump in the pool and to enjoy the appetizer & cocktail slated for that evening.  Don’t miss Sangria night – yum!  Very nice down time between day activities and heading out for the evening.

For dinner we hit our usual favorites:  Conch Republic Seafood House (ask for the Royal Reds if you like shrimp/lobster); Mangia Mangia; Roof Top; Michaels… We found a new place (for us) further down on Duval – Croissants De France – which will be added to our list of favorites.  Crepes were amazing!  We also went here for breakfast one morning and that was also amazing.

To end, we loved the historic buildings, beautiful grounds and the Key West feel sitting by the pool listening to music and meeting nice people at the Cypress House. The staff were all very friendly & accommodating. Thank you Christopher for printing our boarding passes!!  Send my love to Lady Bug – hope she is feeling better.

The Cypress House was a delight from check-in time to saying good-bye 3 days later.  Staff were friendly and very helpful.  The room was beautiful and had everything we needed available.  Breakfast was nice and the 5 pm happy hour was special fun.  We’ll be back!
