Our stay at the Cypress House was very enjoyable.  The room was clean and comfortable.   The location of the property is excellent.   The staff was very friendly and helpful.  One suggestion is to provide coffee for the guests before 7:00 a.m. as currently provided.  A time of 6:00 a.m. would be good for “early risers” like us, or small coffee makers could be provided in the rooms on a case by case basis.  We will definitely stay at your hotel again.

My wife and I stayed at the Cypress House on January 28th and 29th. This was our first foray to Key West. Though the house was historic, our room was very nice and large. The bed was awesome. My wife said it was the best night’s sleep she has had for a long time. We very much enjoyed our time around the pool both during the evening happy hour and breakfast time. The breakfast was very nice. The employees were very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again, when we come back to Key West!

We had a wonderful stay for our 30th anniversary. The room was very comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated. The front desk staff was extraordinary. We arrived after dark on Saturday evening and the host (I wish I could remember his name!) was so friendly and helpful. He got us checked in promptly and then helped us with our bags to our upstairs room. Another front desk host gave us recommendations for special restaurants to celebrate our anniversary and offered to make reservations for us.

We have been to Key West several times and stayed at the Cypress House when it was privately owned. We were a little bit concerned that it may have lost its personal touch, but we needn’t have worried. They kept all of the things we liked about Cypress House from before – morning breakfast, happy hour, etc., but things run a lot more efficiently now. All good things. The main difference is that the dog that used to live there is now a cat!

If I had to give one instance where I think there could be improvement, it is with the housekeeping staff. Everything was kept very clean and sparkling everyday. The only issue was that the coffee packs were often not replenished. One day we asked the front desk person for some packs, and he immediately went with us to the supply closet and got us what we needed. Again the next day the housekeeper forgot to leave more coffee. I caught up with her the next day and asked her to leave us some packs and she did. It’s not a major problem because coffee was available around the pool, but we would have liked to have it available in our room for early in the morning. Again, not a big deal, but I just thought I should mention it.

We love Key West and hope to return very soon. We ate at so many great restaurants that it’s hard to single out any one of them for special praise. We loved happy hour at Alonzo’s, and had a wonderful dinner at Louie’s Backyard. And I think we sampled every Key lime pie in town.

I have my fingers crossed that we win the 3 night stay. We would make it into another week-long vacation in paradise. Keep up the great work.

Had a chance to stay at the Cypress House on my recent stay in Key West. Wow, what an amazing Hotel. From the staff that checked us in to the cleaning staff each morning. Very professional and friendly. The rooms were very clean and well furnished and you can’t beat the location for enjoying Key West. Five Stars! Bravo to the staff! You made our trip!

First time at Cypress House and can’t imagine it will be our last. Great location. Just close enough to Duval Street but far enough away to not have a lot of noise to bother you. Rooms are nicely furnished and very clean. They have a medium pool but honestly, who has the time to be in the pool? Good to know they have one just in case. Can’t wait to come back. Thanks CH!

We stayed at the Cypress House Hotel in November of 2014 for four days and our stay was outstanding. This was our first trip to Key West. We researched several different lodging options – comparing everything from cost to location to amenities. There is no doubt we picked a gem with the Cypress House and we knew it from the moment we exited the cab.

We were greeted very warmly upon arrival. The fine gentleman at the front desk grabbed a bag for us as we were shown to our room. We booked a standard king room but we were upgraded to a balcony king at no charge. The room was great and the shared balcony was perfect for relaxing, absorbing the sounds of Key West and for enjoying a fine cigar. Cypress House does have a small but beautiful pool with towels available poolside. The location of the Cypress House was perfect. Just two blocks off of Duval Street with Mallory Square just a 5 minute walk.

Every morning an awesome complimentary breakfast was served downstairs in the outdoor patio room. Fruit, bagels, egg burritos, biscuits and gravy, juice, coffee and much more. We were able to enjoy a hearty breakfast that lasted us well into the afternoon. Liming hour was then offered in the late afternoon and once again – awesome. Liming = complimentary light food, a rotation of adult beverages and an opportunity to talk with fellow vacationers. After that, dinner was enjoyed all over Key West – Cuban cuisine to seafood.

Every member of the staff we interacted with was super friendly – couldn’t have been better. If there was one item that was slightly inconvenient it would be this (no fault of the Hotel). Our room was positioned on the corner of the hotel and below us during the mornings was a very busy intersection. Car and truck traffic, periodic horns and the occasional loud pipe cycle. This inconvenience was not enough to knock this gem from our 5-star grade though. In a strange way, the morning traffic actually acted as an alarm clock for us.

Our first trip to Key West was full of great memories and the Cypress House certainly played a large part. Friendly, affordable, clean, great location, and the breakfast and liming can help save on your food costs too. We recommend!! Guaranteed we will stay here again!!

This is our 2nd year staying in the Cypress House.  We have stayed in other bed & breakfast houses in Key West and by far the Cypress House is our top pick.  The Cypress House is right in the heart of old town close to all the action but is still a peaceful, quiet, relaxing hotel.  The pool area is very nice and the covered patio is a wonderful place to have breakfast, a relaxing cocktail or just a place to hang after exploring the island.  The staff is friendly and always ready to offer their knowledge and advice of the island and things to do or where to dine.  Dennis & Scott from the front desk are wonderful to deal with and go out of their way to stop and chat and help with anything you need.

The rooms are beautifully decorated & spacious with comfy beds and the bathrooms have nice large walk in showers. The house keeping staff is friendly and do a great job, our room is always clean and stocked with fresh towels daily.  We stay in the main house and always request a deluxe room with access to the porch as this is a nice place to sit and unwind.  The breakfast here is wonderful and offers a hot dish along with various cereals, muffins, bagels, fruit, yogurt and more, there really is something for everyone.  One of the best things is the liming hour where guests gather for a cocktail and appetizers, we have met people from all over hanging at the liming hour.  The only negative is if you have a car there is no parking at the hotel but have to park at the city garage a few blocks down.  We definitely will be back next year and are already dreaming about our next stay.  See you guys next year.

My wife and I stayed in the Cypress House (guest house) when we came to participate in the Key West 1/2 Marathon.  Loved it!  Location was perfect…close enough to Duval Street to enjoy all its action, yet just far enough to retreat at our leisure, and close enough to the harbor to dine and wander.  Accommodations were fabulous…quiet room afforded comfort (we spent as much time relaxing on the private porch as we did anywhere!)  Guest services personnel were superb and as accommodating as any top-rate hotel in the country.  Thanks especially to Kelly and Dennis for going the extra miles with smiles and helpful attitudes throughout our stay!   Atmosphere was terrific…the happy hour and breakfast options allowed us to mingle with other guests and the local feline!  Great added touch to prepare us for a full day and to relax us at the end.   We hope to return again soon!

Everything about our stay was terrific starting with the suggestion during check-in that we use the just down the street public parking garage, and the handy payment as part of check-in. The first floor room was perfect for my wife who does not enjoy flights of stairs.

I enjoyed the original non-paint scheme on the Kemp House siding.  The pool size was perfect as one could actually swim in it and not simply “bob” around.

The breakfast were more than ample and very delicious and the afternoon “liming hour” with sangria’s was perfect.

Finally, location, location, location; perfect! Nearly everything to be seen in Key West is within walking distance and the beaches are within a short drive around the corner.

Perfect all around!
