We stayed for 2 nights in August. Our first room had a problem with the door lock- we told the desk and were moved immediately to an upper floor room facing the street. It was great! Clean and comfy. The people at the front mentioned it might be noisy from the street traffic but it didn’t bother us at all. The happy hour had a nice selection of snacks and drinks. Breakfast was good- set up in the kitchen off the pool area. We found the place to be comfortable and the staff welcoming and helpful.

The Cypress House was a nice place to stay. Location was great! Very close to Duval. Our room was on the third floor. It was very clean, bright and pretty large with a large bathroom. A/C was a window unit which worked well to cool the room. It was 89 degrees and humid outside. The pool is large for a Key West inn. Most are very small and theirs is a good size while still surrounded by island plants and trees. The  front staff was super nice! We got to the inn very early in the day, well before check-in time, but the staff showed us around and welcomed us to enjoy all the property until our room was ready, and we felt genuinely welcome. The hallway of the Cypress House is not air conditioned. Of course, this is an old inn so I can’t say this is a negative, just wanted to note. The only real negative for us was the very loud street noise. Our room was on the corner closest to a busy intersection and on the third floor. Again, no fault of the inn, just wanted to mention in case future visitors are light sleepers.  Overall, it was a nice stay and I would stay there again.

First, I would like to thank the staff at Cypress House for their personal service and attentiveness to our needs.  Thank you.  You are all amazing!

The Cypress House Historic Inn is a collection of  3 homes, dated from 1888, and beautifully decorated with a mix of antiques and modern amenities.  Our room had a beautiful antique shiferobe.   The bathroom had all the modern conveniences yet tastefully decorated to blend in with the historical feel of our room.

Cypress House in is conveniently located blocks away from the Key West Express.  We were able to walk with our luggage to the Inn from the Port.  We were also one block from Duvall St., which is the main street with shops, restaurants, and entertainment.  That said, just about any street we walked or rode our bikes on had a something that would interest anyone.

The staff works with a bicycle rental company that dropped off our rental bikes to the door and picked them up from the door.  Talk about convenient!  Since the Key West express doesn’t take off for Fort Myers until 6pm, we didn’t know what to do between check out time and 5pm.   Again the staff accommodated us and allowed us to keep our luggage safe, while we were allowed to use pool, bathroom, and walk around town to do more sight seeing.

Our room was spotlessly clean.  Every morning breakfast was served with a selection of hot or cold food.  “Liming Hour” was also another perk, cocktail and a light snack before dinner around the pool under the sheltered patio.  Even though it was 90+ degrees, the outdoor patio never felt hot as the fans and shade kept us comfortable.

My husband and I both enjoyed our visit at the Cypress House.  As we’re not big drinkers, we did hang around the pool and the staff took time to talk to us as if we were a family member visiting their own home.

We give Cypress House 5 pineapples, 5 stars.   If we ever return to Key West we wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

My husband and I live in Miami, and we have been in Key West many times.  Most of the times we stayed in big chain hotels, Westin, Casamarina, etc. Once we stayed at Duval House and we liked it.

We loved Cypress House!  We already recommended to my friends on FB!

The room was perfect, bathroom renewed, great AC, nice bed and bedding!  The room was by the pool.  We loved the concept adults only! Outstanding personnel, since the check in to the check out only excellent service. Great breakfast and Happy Hour.  Ahh, 2 blocks from Duval!  We’ll be back for sure!

The stay at Cypress House was amazing.   The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, the rooms were very clean, comfortable and chic (totally remodeled).   Basically you have the best of both worlds, the historic feel of Key West on the outside and the modern and chic comforts once inside your room!  The pool was maintained very nicely always clean, and the happy hours were an added perk!  Breakfast was also delicious.  I would definitely repeat the stay!

Parking is a bit far, but you can drop off your belongings when you check in and take a nice leisurely stroll back from the parking garage.

WOW!  Absolutely beautiful.  We were actually staying at a facility for a couple of days to celebrate our 25th anniversary.  Through our walk-about in town, we passed by the Cypress House and requested to view a room; immediately decided to stay in Key West a 3rd night… HERE.  WOW, bigger than our own bedroom and bathroom back home.  Can we move in?

Scott was very courteous and attentive to our needs, and such an amusing gentleman.  We hadn’t expected accommodations with happy hour and breakfast so this was absolutely over-the-top.  Absolutely love the mix of modern & antique decor in a historic home; you made it work!  Although we were traveling without our children, we’ve never thought of accommodations for adults only.  No wonder it was quite serene.  The atmosphere with the pool surrounded by tropical trees/plants made it all the more enjoyable! Location, Location, Location… perfect place to be with easy foot/car access to everything we wanted to do or needed.     And thank you for allowing me a small space in the kitchen to package our fresh catch from a fishing excursion.  Looking forward to returning to celebrate another anniversary.

Thank you….I am now a judge during the Hemingway Days Festival. This Fest is a very lively group. The island lights up. I won in 2002 and have stayed at the Cypress since the win. There is  a lot of action during our stay. I like the closeness to our activities. My thing would be the breakfast! A continental style works for most of us. Not  a lot of early risers during this festival but never the less, some of us roll out. The kitchen works great both inside and out. I have suggested to the last two winners that they join us at  the Cypress. The Papas have found a home and appreciate what the Cypress does for us.  The Wednesday morning gathering gives all contestants a chance to schmooze with the judges and view the auction items that start on the first round on Thursday.

The Cypress house provides a great tropical setting for this desert rat. I would suggest that since we have heat in Phoenix during the same time frame that a  simple aerator system in the pool would work great and pull the temperatures of the water to lower degrees…I am not sure how a misting system would work but it would be worth an experiment. Thank you for the trust of your house cleaning people…we set our change and cash out ….it is still there with a very tidy room. The shower was always clean and great. I might encourage you to do what they do on cruise ships….which is optional…perhaps an envelope for their tip could be provided…   I walked Duval on the Monday following    an attempt to connect with an art gallery that would carry my whimsical  art  and our Hemingway experience while on the Island. I will  continue to seek my  place until I am successful…leads will be deeply appreciated…….of course this would be yet another reason to return to your wonderful island………..thanks again for the  adventure….

This was our second time staying at the Cypress House and it was stellar!  We arrived just after 10pm and the gentleman was just about to leave for the night but he speedily checked us in.  We stayed Thursday-Sunday in a standard queen room.  Very clean room with a spacious bathroom, and all updated decor and fixtures.  We enjoyed the pool during happy hour and the appetizers offered were fabulous!  The staff is always so friendly and it feels like staying with friends rather than in a hotel.  The best part is the central location to everything in Key West.  My boyfriend surprised me with an engagement ring on this trip so it was extra memorable!  We are looking forward to another great trip to Key West and stay at the Cypress House.  Thanks!

My husband and I stayed at the Cypress House for the first time over the latter part of July and it was wonderful! We were with a large group for a bday party and the accommodations were incredible. The rooms are so clean and large and very comfortable. The entire staff was amazing, especially Dennis! We will definitely come back and stay again.

I was extremely impressed with our 2 night stay at the Cypress House. The staff was friendly and seemed to want to go out of their way to please their guests. This was my first stay at a b & b and I can’t imagine staying at a big resort while in the keys after my experience at the Cypress House.

The location was the selling point since we didn’t want to drive around. It was close enough to the Duval and shopping areas for convenience, yet far enough for peace.

The breakfast and happy hour surpassed my expectations. The complementary flavored water and coffee throughout the day and evening was a nice little bonus too.

When I return to Key West, I will stay no where else!!
