This was our first time in Key West. We are use to traveling, know what we like and are sometimes referred to by our friends as “hard to please” or “pickey”. From the first person we encountered at the front desk, everyone was very friendly and professional. Our room was just right…..it fit our needs, was bright and cheerfull, clean, confortable, and up to date. The location of the Key Lime Inn was perfect and gave us great access to things we wanted to see.

Thank you for an enjoyable stay at Key West.

Our stay at the Key Lime Inn from March 4th through March 8th was fantastic. We had originally booked our stay starting on the 5th, but due to forecasted weather issues at home, we called to see if we could check in a day early and the reservation staff was extremely accommodating and was able to get us in. We arrived and were checked in quickly. The room was very nice, with a king size bed, mini fridge and patio. Overall the grounds of the Inn and the pool were great. We definitely would recommend this Inn. Everything was great and it’s very conveniently located to all the attractions in Key West. We can’t wait to come back!

Conveniently located on Route 1, or Truman Avenue, I was concerned about street noise. However, those fears were unfounded. The parking lot and the lush landscape block the noise from the street.

A feature setting this Inn apart from the other beautiful, historic accommodations is the “cottages.” These charming, two-room buildings make a refreshing change from the typical hotel, and also make for a more tranquil setting, with the noise from adjoining guests is only possible on one side instead of four. The pathways around the property are packed mulch, so very quiet and in keeping with the natural area.

The pool is not huge; it’s appropriate for the size of the hotel and has a comfortable area, including lots of shade and tables for socializing. In the pool, there is a ledge running around the inside, just below the water level, which is perfect for sitting or lying, and staying cool.

The staff are gracious and helpful, but allow you your privacy too. Any request was handled immediately, and they were all quietly attentive to an elderly relative, which was so kind.

The wooden rooms are large with high, vaulted ceilings, fans, dark wood floors, plantation shutters on the windows and complimentary furnishings. The king bed was very comfy, and the extra modern conveniences are there too–fridge, plugs in the bedside lights for charging electronics, along with the expected TV etc. The bathroom has a big shower, and the single sink  has a large top for two people’s possessions. Some rooms have a porch off them, and there are sitting areas scattered on the property–the tree bench is a wonderful sport to swing and watch the world go by.

The Inn a convenient location for exploring the island as it’s near bike rentals and the historical trolly and train. I recommend the train over the trolly. You will learn a great deal about the history and architecture, and come away with a good understanding of Key West. The train is not as closed in as the trolley, and is slower-paced as it doesn’t tear around the outside of the island. It’s a more intimate experience of Key West.

A trip to the Dry Tortugas National Park, in a sea plane is back on my bucket list. It’s not cheap, so we opted for half a day. It’s a day trip, no question. The snorkeling is excellent; you can go around the fort itself in the water, there are migrating birds and white beaches. There is also lots of shade in the fort. Take food and drink, as there is none in the park.

Restaurants abound, and we didn’t have a bad meal. The menus are what they read, in our experience.

I was surprised by the calibre of accommodations and food in Key West, we shall be back, and I probably stay at the Key Lime Inn again–I don’t think I could improve upon it.

My husband and I were only able to stay 1 night at the Key Lime Inn.  When I called to make a last minute reservation, they were very personable, helpful and even recommended local places according to my interests.  Check in/out was speedy and the minute we opened our trunk on our car, there was a very pleasant gentleman right there to help with the bags. The room was lovely, comfortable and quiet and updated. Plus a fridge and coffeemaker; nice plus.  Complimentary breakfast by the pool was lovely; and the grounds were immaculate.  Next time I would opt for a room with a porch.  We could walk to famous Duval Street and other areas. Would definitely stay here again, hopefully for more time.

We had a great time in Key West. The hotel was very close to Duval St. ,yet far enough away. The staff was very knowledgeable and courteous. The room was clean and comfortable. We will stay here again.

My husband and I were in dire need of a relaxing escape from a stressful past year and the winter cold. My father had stayed at the Key Lime Inn in the past, and when I told him we were thinking of the Keys he immediately told me to call the Key Lime Inn to book our stay. We booked the hotel with a very helpful Randy who put in a request for a secluded, romantic spot with available parking for our rental car. When confirming our reservation, Shannon was incredibly helpful in assisting us with making some last minute adjustments.

When we arrived, we entered the private parking lot and noticed the beautiful historic inn and the adjacent quaint cottages. Our fingers were crossed that we would be in one of those picturesque buildings and Randy had been so sweet to reassure us we would have a very special getaway. When we checked in, the staff greeted us with enthusiasm and informed us that we had the private cottage in the front that we were eyeing! We were very excited but we had arrived a little early for check-in. No worries because they pointed us in the direction of some great mojitos and our bike rental location and called us when our room was ready. We were elated when we opened the door to our cottage to find a beautifully appointed room with incredible light and french doors that opened up to our own private sitting area. The next 4 days were like heaven.

We would explore Key West on our bikes in the morning and come back to lounge in the afternoon at their incredible private pool that was surrounded by palm trees and plenty of lounge chairs. The other guests and staff became fast friends during those lazy afternoons. When we would go back to our rooms to refresh for the evening, our rooms were cleaned and put back to their original perfect state. It felt like our own private paradise and we have missed it every day since we have been back in the real world.

My husband and I have traveled all over the world and this is definitely become our favorite spot of all. Thank you for making our trip such a special one and we hope to be back living the Keys lifestyle (even only for a few days) again very soon!

We had a very comfortable stay with you. The front desk was extremely helpful. When we arrived, the gal at the desk helped us find a parking place right across the street, because the parking lot was full. The night staff gave us recommendations for really good restaurants every night. Most importantly, when we left an entire drawer full of clothes, your staff called and told us how we could have them shipped to the next stop. We don’t usually leave things behind. We are so grateful you help to correct this error on our part. We will definitely come again!

We just returned from a weekend trip to Key West.  We really enjoyed the Key Lime Inn.  Highly recommend paying the extra for the King rooms in the main house – well worth it.  Coffee on the porch listening to the palm leaves rustle in the breeze – very serene.  Location was great.  Grounds were very quaint and had various sitting areas/hammocks throughout. 2 block walk to Duval and 10 minute walk to Blue Heaven – the best breakfast on Key West!  Will definitely consider staying for our next trip down.

Perfect inn off the main drag- we stayed in a king suite ( #10) with a porch which was very spacious.   I did not see what a cottage looked like but some were available at this hotel.  I ask to see one but they were all occupied.  Check in and check out was a breeze and the staff courteous, efficient, and helpful with advice and directions. The bathrooms were very clean and it was nice to actually have clean bathroom vanity drawers for use.  Refrigerator was located at bedside,  and a very small safe was bolted to the floor in the closet.  Surrounding grounds were private with hammocks, rockers and table and chairs. Poolside was clean and neat with tables, chairs and loungers.  Evening socializing and shared drinks were permitted by the pool. This is where continental breakfast is served daily. Parking was limited but available on street or in their adjacent hotels lots.  Housekeeping was daily and efficient.  Bike rentals were great for traveling the island and located within walking distance of the hotel.  We had a group of 7 so negotiated a very fair price of $10 / day. Smoking is permitted in some areas poolside and on the porch.  I would stay here again and recommend it to my family and friends.

Room Tip: If bothered by late night conversation by the pool request a room farther away. Some units require stairs so if that is a problem mention that at time of reservation.

A few of our favorite places: Saint Mary Star of the Sea Church and Grotto ( the mass was an awesome experience):  Sunset pier and happy hour at Commodores: Mallory Square at Sunset ( look for Bobby) and Duval.

We do not recommend the drag queen shows- we have seen these tastefully done- but found these not so.
