My husband and I traveled to Key West to celebrate our anniversary and were delighted to find this charming inn.  We loved the courtyard shaded by tropical plants and enjoyed our breakfast there each morning.  There is a resident cat named Jordan del Gato who lounges leisurely around the property.  We laughed every time we saw him.  We really appreciated small details like a water cooler for refilling water bottles, the Eco Boutique soaps for sensitive skin, and fresh fruit at breakfast.  The staff is very friendly.  Our room was small with lovely wood floors and clean.  We really liked staying on the back side of the inn with a porch and hammock just outside our door.  We walked all over Key West and appreciated the convenient location.  Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful time at the Merlin Guest House – our third time visiting Key West. Our accommodations were the best. Kenneth and the two ladies at the front desk were informative about restaurants, and activities in Key West. I would not hesitate to recommend Merlin Guest House as a place to stay. Our fellow guests were varied, interesting, and most were repeat customers. We liked the king room, and might try the first floor next time. We liked 7 Fish and Deuces Off the Hook – both recommended by your staff. We very much look forward to our next visit.

Perfect stay! Accommodations and location could not have been better. Kenneth was awesome, offering his expertise on where to go and what to see. He was wonderful. Also, the other lady (oh dear I am so embarrassed that I forget her name) offered her historic knowledge of the area. It was like a private tour. We will be back!

We stayed at the Merlin Guest House 7/9 – 7/14. Our room was huge and the bed was very comfortable. There is a continental breakfast every morning, however, if you like to sleep in a little there is very little left. The girl that checked us in was so polite and knowledgeable. She recommended “Off The Hook” which is a little restaurant across the street. The food was fabulous!! Will definitely stay there again.

I had a great stay at the Merlin Guest House. I was traveling on my own but I felt very safe and secure there. My room was lovely and just right for me. I would have liked a mini fridge for cold drinks. There was also no place to hang clothes other than some pegs. However those were the only negatives. All the staff was lively. From check in to check out. Lynn especially was very kind and helpful when I locked my keys (including my room key!) in my car! I def will return to the Merlin Guest House in the future!!

We chose the Merlin Guest House by accident; didn’t know anything about the accommodations in Key West. Could not have done any better. It was small enough to be intimate; one block from Duval, right in the center of the block; an easy walk to everything. The staff was great and personal (loved Linda). Our room (#8) was spotless and that was the impression you got when you opened the door: mostly white, new white tiled bathroom, nice bright interior and bedding; completely calming and comfortable. Please thank the housekeeper. It screamed clean and that is so important to guests. The grounds are small and also intimate; when you leave the sidewalk and come through their gate, you get the feeling of tranquil and island; you don’t even think that there is a street 75 feet away. Loved the breakfast in the courtyard under the trees. And of course who can leave out meeting the resident kitty. Thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable.

We enjoyed the stay here. Kenneth at the front office was very friendly and helpful I will say the best customer service and the maintenance supervisor and the team was great. We loved coming to Key West and staying in hotels but this one was the best experience we have had in Key West. The house we where staying in was very nice and cozy and the best part was they had  breakfast every morning just a hop and skip from your room. Thanks Thanks!

Don’t make the mistake of choosing a hotel out from town. Their rates may be less, but you aren’t going to be near Old Town, the attraction area of Key West. All of the Historic Key West Inns are in the best Old Town areas. The Merlin Guest House is a block from Duval St and has great access. It’s typically smallish rooms but has parking lot and pool and all the normal amenities. Nice clean rooms. I like it!
