First let us say you folks did it again. Another wounderful stay in Key West. We’ve loved so many of your hotels; 3 stays at the Light House Court, one being a suite during our 11 day stay for Fantasy Fest 2011. A romantic get away at Albury. And we just had our 3rd stay at Merlin. Love, love these places. I would like to thank Michelle for being so helpful in taking our booking, and then for the marvelous room #16. During our stay the staff always has a friendly smile and kind words. It’s like staying with family. Hardest part is leaving. Ha Ha. But reality does set in. But the time in Key West lounging around the pool or taking in a hotel recommended adventure gets one relaxed and recharged. Thank you for providing us many options in our accommodations in KW, yet still staying with the quality resorts and staff we have come to enjoy. We always look forward to our next trip and stay in Key West. See you soon!

We enjoyed our stay in this warm friendly guest house. The staff were asking us to stay for another night and we felt guilty having to move on. The breakfast was the best we had on our holiday and the other other guests were friendly. Thanks to the staff or owners who looked after us so well!

My boyfriend and I made a quick stop in Key West in June. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left the staff was beyond accommodating and friendly. We were greeted with useful information about the area (which was helpful as we only had one day to spend in Key West). We were also given a dinner recommendation for “Hot Tin Roof” which was great given that we work in the theatre in New York. The room was chic, clean, and quiet. The pool was a nice place to relax after a day of walking and the complementary light breakfast helped us with some energy to get on the road early the following day. As our first time in Key West we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We plan on coming back and staying in this very spot!

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Merlin Guest House. It started at the first phone call with reservations and Julie Moody, what a pleasure to speak to and deal with.  Went above and beyond our expectations with welcome gift for our anniversary. Thank you! Thank you! Check in was smooth with Kenneth as he explained the property and things to do in the area. His hospitality was welcoming the whole time we were there. A+ loved the layout and location of the room..

First of all, I will just say that it was a true joy and pleasure to stay at the Merlin Guest House! I was celebrating my 34th birthday with my girlfriend, Libby. I am from FL and have been to Key West several times. Libby is from Indiana, and has only been to Key West once, when she was a little girl. I flew her in from Indianapolis into Miami, then we drove down together on the morning of June 2nd. I chose the Merlin Guest House because I liked the location, the reviews online, the price range, and the pictures and description of the unit. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Michealle and Linda. They treated us to a bottle of champagne for our room. It was a nice touch! The room itself, we stayed in room 11, was perfect! The size, cleanliness, bathroom, patio with chair areas, community hammock, everything was great! Libby and I had such a wonderful time, we said it was like heaven on earth, like paradise, and a weekend neither of us will ever forget. Linda was very helpful with providing a list of local companies that do bike rentals, waverunners, etc. We would love to come back to stay at the Merlin Guest House and I have already recommended it to my friends and family. It’s a great place and you have chosen some great employees. Can’t think of a single complaint.

We were greeted by Linda. Upon arriving in our room, we were surprised to find a split of bubbly waiting for the birthday boy. Loved our room. Spacious, sectional couch, vaulted ceiling and a shared porch.  Nice continental breakfast in the morning and relaxing in the spa pool in the afternoon.  Nice tropical feel and quiet.

Our stay at the Merlin Guest House was wonderful.  Our room was #9, one of the smaller rooms available, but we don’t need much, mostly a place to sleep and clean up.  The bed was SO comfortable, probably the most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in besides my own.  The walls are thick or well insulated, we couldn’t hear our neighbors or any other outside noises, though it wasn’t very noisy at the Merlin house anyway.  The grounds are peaceful and gave me the sense of a tropical hideaway, very relaxing and spent some time reading in the hammock.  The pool is a bit smaller than the pictures lead me to believe, but I wasn’t there to swim laps, it was cool and refreshing either for a morning wake up dip or an afternoon cool off.  The staff is friendly and very helpful and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, like when we locked ourselves out of our room, opps.  Our only suggestions for the room would be is to have a mini fridge and maybe a few more wall hangers, because it is rather small, it would have been nice to be able to hang up wet swim suits, small bags/purses, hats and other things.

Having never visited Key West, I took a long time researching the right hotel for my solo escape on the internet. I was so thrilled to find that I had made the exact right selection upon my arrival. Merlin Guest House is off the main and tucked into it’s own tropical garden. The other guests were chill people like myself. The staff was friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The breakfast by the (tiny) jetted pool was handy and adorable. My room was gorgeous with hard wood and a private outdoor space. I battled a bug or two, but more because it is Florida and not due to a lack of cleanliness. Merlin is affordable, in the middle of it all without being IN THE MIDDLE OF IT ALL (I walked everywhere), it captures the essence of the keys in flora and architecture and it is an easy walk from Five Brothers Grocery (best cafe con leche EVER) and Blue Heaven (must eat restaurant situated outside under banyan trees – think Rainforest Cafe but for reals). Also, chickens. I will return and I highly recommend The Merlin Guest House.
