My friend and I recently stayed at the Merlin Guesthouse for 3 days and enjoyed our time. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was awesome, especially Linda! Duval street is about one block from Merlin Guesthouse, so not only was walking accessible, but we also enjoyed our quiet time. Would definitely recommend Merlin Guesthouse to anyone visiting Key West, and plan on returning the next time I visit Key West.

My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary in Key West and our stay at the Merlin Guesthouse was the icing on the cake. We loved it. We were greeted by Linda and she is great. She was informative and really went out of her way to make us happy. The room was clean, well maintained and very cozy. The property itself is beautiful and well maintained and so is the splash pool. Jordan the cat (their mascot) is the cherry on top. He’s so laid back it’s catchy ;-) We will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I had a quick, fun run to Key West while on a business trip to Marathon. We saw Merlin Guesthouse and stopped in to see if they had availability. Kenneth greeted us warmly and offered us a lovely room. He was so friendly, entertaining and kind. He told us great places to eat and we went to an Italian restaurant that he suggested. It was delicious. We had a restful, quiet nights sleep and in the morning, we were again greeted by Kenneth by the breakfast area. We all swapped life stories and enjoyed a complimentary breakfast in a tropical garden setting. My husband had to work and off we went. I will love to recommend this guest house to anyone and hope to visit again soon.

First time staying at a bed and breakfast. We enjoyed the stay, quite and close to Duval.  We will defiantly be staying there on our trips to Key West. Breakfast was great and staff was excellent.

This was my second stay at the Merlin Guesthouse and both times I could not have been any happier with my experiences!  From the minute I booked online and called to confirm, the staff went above and beyond to answer any questions and make me feel welcome.  This stay was for 3 nights and we arrived early and our cottage was ready for us and they allowed us to check-in early.  The cottage was very clean and spacious and perfect for a party of 4.  Each morning we were able to go to the pool area for a delicious spread of muffins, pastries, orange juice and coffee.  I would also like to mention Kenneth by name.  He was always very friendly and had plenty of restaurant suggestions when I asked him.  Also, the location is perfect.  Only a block from Duval Street so the walk is very short and easy, but also you don’t get any of the noise or craziness of Duval Street at night!  Overall we were thrilled with this stay and we are looking forward to booking another trip at the Merlin Guesthouse as soon as possible!

We had a wonderful stay and our accommodations were exceptional from booking to checkout.  We found every staff member friendly, helpful, and courteous.  The rooms were clean and bright.  The beds were comfortable and the breakfasts were good.  Thank you, Jim and Sandy Wallen.

My boyfriend and I had only 2 nights at the Merlin Guesthouse this week but we wish we could have stayed longer.  From the moment our trip began, the staff was nothing but hospitable and welcoming.  Starting with Linda, who I spoke to on the phone about setting up a late check in.  She responded immediately to our need by typing up a lengthy email specifically for us getting into our room after 10pm.  It was easy and really relieved the stress on the drive from Miami knowing we didn’t have to speed to the hotel to get there by a certain time.

The next day we had the pleasure of meeting Kenneth who helped us sort out the rest of paying for our room and seeing if we needed anything since we came so late the night before.  It was about 830 am and I told Kenneth I knew it was probably impossible at this point but my boyfriend and I really wanted to try fishing that day since it was our only full day in Key West. I told Kenneth our budget (not big, since we splurged on the accommodations) and by 10am we were on a boat at the harbor and we fished until 4pm.  It was a pleasant surprise being able to get on that boat and without Kenneth it wouldn’t have happened.

The laid back vibe at the Merlin Guesthouse was exactly what we were looking for and the continental breakfast was great too.  Thanks so much for a pleasant stay, looking forward to the next time we can afford to come back.

Well located, close to everything and easy to find.

The Queen Bed rooms are not the biggest but work OK. They are clean and tastefully decorated. The A/C Units are noisy but bearable over melting in the summer heat.

Overall a nice place to stay and we’ll be back.

As soon as we arrived we were treated like family and felt at home.  Very clean.  The staff was beyond helpful.  Great location and easily within walking distance to any place downtown.   We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.
