The Merlin Guesthouse was the perfect place to relax and enjoy Key West. Our room was just perfect facing the courtyard, comfortable bed and adorably decorated. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous. Breakfast served daily in the pool area gazebo was just right to start our days of exploring beautiful Key West! You could not beat the location as it is right in the center of everything we wanted to see. I would highly recommended this lovely property and we will definitely be back to stay!

We have stayed at Merlin Guesthouse three times and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay every time. The staff is friendly and courteous, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and it is conveniently located….quiet, yet within easy walking distance to all activities. We have recommended this guesthouse to friends and family, and plan to stay again on a future visit if room is available.

We had the opportunity to stay in a two bedroom guest cottage @ Merlin Guesthouse!  Our stay from beginning to end was just fabulous.  ALL of the staff that we met were warm and welcoming and always ready to assist with whatever questions we had.  The cottage was sizable and had all amenities: nicely decorated with comfortable beds.  The linens thick, soft, & fluffy!

The outside areas were quaint and quite with enough seating.  Continental breakfast had a broad variety of choices: I personally enjoyed the hard boiled eggs!   The small heated pool surrounded by the perfect number of lounge chairs with pool towels and a variety of tanning lotions available was a delight: as was the cool iced tea available all afternoon poolside!

In summary, our stay with Merlin (and Jordan del Gato, the resident outside cat..) was terrific!  Your guesthouse will certainly be highly recommended to  anyone we know when visiting downtown Key West!

This was a perfect getaway for my adult son and me. One block from Duval Street but in a very quiet neighborhood of beautiful old homes.  Immaculate suite and very tastefully landscaped grounds made relaxing by and in the jacuzzi pool the perfect ying to the Duval yang.  Suggest renting a moped for easy touring of the rest of town and getting a taste of the local color.  Would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Merlin Guesthouse for 3 nights over the weekend. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. The guest house is very conveniently located so that we could walk to  places  such as Duval Street, Mallory Square and popular restaurants. Our deluxe king room was very spacious, quite and comfortable. The bathroom was huge and very well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had an awesome time with Jordan DelGato! If we decide to visit Key West again, we will be definitely staying at the Merlin Guesthouse. Thank you for making our stay so pleasurable!!

My husband and I had never been to Key West and were really looking forward to a few days of relaxing and sightseeing with his sister and his nephew. We are from San Diego, my husband’s sister from Virginia, and her son is in the Navy as a Top Gun Flight Instructor on the F-18’s. It was a wonderful chance for us to all get together in Key West, where my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations at the Merlin Guesthouse. The bed was very comfy, staff very friendly and helpful, the restaurant across the street was perfect our first night during a rain storm–delicious and close!! We have told everyone considering visiting Key West to stay at the Merlin Guesthouse as it was the highlight of our trip–and that says ALOT!!

This was our third stay at the The Merlin Guesthouse.  We’ve been so pleased with your accommodations, staff, and service that we have never considered staying anywhere else (and we all know there are plenty of options).  The location, rooms, beautiful and relaxing courtyard/pool area, breakfast, kind and considerate staff, and of course Jordan make this our ideal retreat.  We recommend your inn to friends and family visiting Key West with every opportunity.  The fact that we see the same pleasant faces each time we return also speaks volumes.   The staff, especially the front desk, has always been more than friendly and accommodating.  We highly recommend the Black Fin Bistro for a great meal.

My husband and I had never been to Key West and we weren’t sure what to expect. When we arrived we were greeted by the charming Linda who opened the door to the world of Key West for us with her terrific dining and activities recommendations. We were so taken with the room and the surroundings we decided to stay an extra night. Thank you much for our delightful Key West experience!

My wife and I stayed 4 nights in unit 17, starting on February 27, 2015. The young lady who checked us in was very helpful, moving her Jeep to provide us a parking spot–even before we got to our room. All of the hotel staff were similarly courteous and accommodating with questions about the property, advice on attractions, getting around, and restaurants.

To begin with, the Merlin Guesthouse was ideally situated–something we did not appreciate until we got to Key West and began exploring. Our King Suite was clean and pleasant and the housekeeping was as we hoped. Our only quibble was the noisy air conditioner, which we switched off at night, relying on the ceiling fans to keep relatively comfortable. That said, we would recommend this hotel to a friend for its charm and location. The continental breakfast was superb–more than we expected–and the spa was delightful.

We did check out some of the better restaurants, but our favorite was Pisces, about 2 blocks down Simonton St. Cafe Marquesa–also a few blocks away on Simonton–was also good but a bit crowded and noisy with the bar in the dining room. By the way, we found the Old Town Trolley Tour worth the money, particularly with the ability to get on and off at any stop over a 2 day period, but we wish we hadn’t pre-purchased tickets for the Shipwreck and Mel Fisher museums, as they were a disappointment. On the other hand, The Hemingway House ad Museum and the Truman Little White House were more interesting as was the Butterfly conservatory. We also enjoyed the Zachary Taylor State Park–both the fort and the beach.
