The Merlin Guesthouse was perfect! Kenny, who met us when we arrived, was very courteous and took care of all our needs; he also checked up on us every morning at breakfast. The room we stayed in was very spacious, had a cool temperature, and most important it was very clean.  Breakfast under the trees added the perfect touch in making us feel the true Historic side of Key West.  The location could not be beat; we were in walking distance to everything but not too close to the noise.  Thank you for showing us that service like this is still possible in the US.

Staff was SUPER friendly, especially Linda! Had a slight problem, with booking credit not going through, and she held the room and extra night for me! Easy check in procedure, had to do late check in and it was set up with ease. Room was clean, and smelled good! Cute little place with an awesome little hammock that was right outside our room! 1 block off Duval, right where you want to be! I would highly recommend this for a friend to stay at, and will be coming back myself soon!

My wife and I needed a quick R&R mini vacation.  Having gone to Key West many times in the past we enjoy staying in guest houses vs the the big box hotels. Having stayed at Chelsea House a couple of times in the past, ( which was excellent as well)  we decided to stay at the Merlin Guesthouse this time. We have passed it many times on our walk to Duval Street.

The Merlin was perfect from check in to check out. The staff was outstanding from Kenneth to the housekeepers. They were all accommodating. The location was perfect for walking to Duval Street. And surrounding area for restaurants.

Area of improvement I would suggest is blackout curtains in the room (we were in rm 16) and there were lights coming in from all sides. The small refrigerator did not appear to work that well, but since we had a cooler it was not an issue. Bathroom was tight, but it is an old historical bldg. Again no worries.

We will definitely stay again. In fact our daughter is going down to KW in a few weeks and based on our recommendation is staying at another of the Historic Key West Inns, the Key Lime Inn.

Thank you for a nice time in Key West.

This place is somehow magically quiet in the middle of the city! Beautiful grounds and rooms, wonderful staff, felt like being in the jungle. We slept well, which is the whole point… But also our vacation was so much more special because of the ease of access; you can walk everywhere from here. We were parallel to Duval but up a couple blocks, so as aformentioned, it was very peaceful.   Felt so much more unique and adventurous than other hotel stays in the Keys. We would return!!  This place made us feel transported away from our normal hardworking lives and was a wonderful home base for our trip. We wished we’d stayed here longer.

Our stay at The Merlin Guesthouse was simply wonderful!  The rooms were quaint and clean, the Staff was very personable and helpful, and the location was perfect.  Also, the continental breakfast outside in the nicest setting was delicious.  Our next trip to the Florida Keys we will definitely be staying here again.  Thank you again for the great hospitality!

Matt and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Merlin Guesthouse.  The atmosphere is friendly and charming.  The room was comfortable and clean, and the housekeeping staff eager to help.  Linda and Lee in the office went out of their way to help us get settled and to answer our questions.  Check in and check out were easy, especially since my debit card processing was held up.  We enjoyed lunch across the street at Deuce’s Off the Hook, dinners at Blue Heaven, Mangoes, and Kelly’s Caribbean Grill.  We will definitely be back!

We stayed here is June. We could not get a room with two beds or one king at the Key Lime, our first choice. The Merlin Inn, their sister hotel, was a good value since we got a reserved parking space. The room was very nice, the bed excellent, and overall it was more than satisfactory. Wish the small pool was more refreshing since the weather was hot and muggy. Don’t know if the water was heated or just very warm due to the size of the pool. Would we come back, yes!

Thank you for a wonderful stay, we were visiting for work and were able to have a little fun as well. We frequent the Keys and will definitely keep your hotel on the list for future travels. The staff, grounds, and rooms were all pleasant to deal with and made us feel at home away from home.

The two recommendations I would have for the Merlin Guesthouse would be to offer a cover option for the skylight in the rooms, we stayed up pretty late one night working and that 6:30am beam of sunlight can be uncomfortable while in bed, as well as the mattresses could use an upgrade.

Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you soon !!
