We stayed in a one-bedroom cottage with our 2 boys.  It was very comfortable and a great location!  Easy walk everywhere but very quiet, and we found on- street parking.  The staff were friendly and helpful.  Would definitely return!

It was a short stroll back from Duval Street after dark, and yet the two blocks was far enough away to be free from the noise.  My daughter and I felt safe when we returned to the guesthouse, because we didn’t have to walk down a lot of dark streets.

The staff seemed genuinely friendly and we enjoyed visiting with them.  The enclosed garden area was comfortable and inviting.

Our room  #12 was clean and quiet.  We thought it could use a few more hooks in the bedroom and maybe a small chair or luggage stand.  Our suitcases were on the floor.  We don’t use the dressers in hotels, having left items behind too many times in the past. The Keurig machine and fridge were nice to have.

We had a view of the housekeepers closet from our front room, so spending over $1000 for 3 nights seemed a little….. mah.  However, we did feel comfortable at the guesthouse on the whole.

The little restaurant across the street, Deuces, was very very good.  We enjoyed Smather’s beach and our visit to the Truman Little White House, especially.  We had fun watching the sunset from Mallory Square, but would recommend watching from the Fort Zach State Park for a quieter atmosphere.

Key West was a great place to spend Christmas Eve.  We loved having a green and balmy Christmas Day.  It wasn’t overly crowded until the 26th.  Either way, we were happily enjoying the historic atmosphere as well as the festive vibe.

We stayed at the Merlin Guesthouse and from the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. Kenneth immediately greeted us with a friendly smile and showed us the grounds. What an adorable place!  Our room was very comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. I wished we could have stayed longer. Also, Jordan, the infamous cat was such a pleasure to meet. We will definitely return and highly recommend to anyone that wants a romantic getaway.

Our stay was a return visit. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless. We did not spend much time on site, as the convenient walking distance to town allowed us to come and go throughout the day. The pool is great, nicely sized and cozy. We were in town this time for the Off Shore Power Boat Races. We would return and definitely recommend the Merlin Guesthouse to others.

I had the pleasure of staying at Merlin Guesthouse on  Dec.18, 2014.  At the  last minute I needed to be in Key West on the 19th for business reasons and had no idea where to stay with such short notice.  I went on the web and saw Merlin and after a quick phone call I was all set.  Spoke with Lee, at the front desk, and she was most helpful and pleasant. She gave easy instructions for late night checkin but I got there with 15 mins to spare and got to speak with her in person.

My room was neat and clean. The price was very reasonable.  The location of the guesthouse was perfect.  Could walk to everything I wanted to visit.

I plan on coming back to Key West soon to celebrate asking my girlfriend to marry me (she said yes) and I will surely keep Merlin Guesthouse in mind. Would recommend to everyone.

Thank you again

Our first stay was 3 years ago at the Merlin Guesthouse for our honeymoon. We have come back every year since. It is a wonderful place to stay in Key West. We were immediately taken with the charm and hospitality. Merlin Guesthouse has been so perfect for us, even as our family has grown from two to three, that we have not considered anywhere else to stay. The location, charm and amenities are all perfect. Everyone has been so kind and accommodating to us. We love Merlin! I recommend Merlin to everyone we know who visits Key West.

We had such a lovely time at Merlin.  The rooms had recently been re-done and were beautiful and clean.  Loved the bathroom and the exposed rafter ceiling.  There was a cute hammock area off the porch to our room.  Linda was so nice and really took care of us.  When the hair dryer shorted as I was getting ready she immediately gave me a brand new one to use.  She always had great advice on where to rent bikes, eat lunch, she even ordered a taxi to be waiting for me when it was time to leave.  Merlin had the charm of a bed and breakfast but the comfort of a hotel.

We also went over and had drinks at their sister hotel the lighthouse court pool bar which was lovely.

Will certainly be coming back one day!

This was my first stay at the Merlin Guesthouse and the overall experience was fantastic.  The staff was very friendly and courteous. They made you feel like a member of their family.  Once inside the property, you felt a million miles away from crowds. It was relaxing and peaceful.  The room was spotless, comfortable and very homey.  Our group had such a wonderful time we reserved rooms for our trip next year! It is a must to put on your bucket list – a trip to Key West while staying at the Merlin Guesthouse.

I cannot tell you how wonderful the Merlin Guesthouse is.  The property, the pool, breakfast, the service, and the people.  My husband and I have been going to Key West since we were married there in 2005.  We normally go twice a year and each time, we stay at a Historic Key West Inns hotel.  We have decided that although the other properties in their collection are awesome, the Merlin is just HEAVEN.   Shout out to Lee, Linda, Devin and Kenneth!  You guys always go above and beyond! And we look forward to seeing you on our next trip!!
