I visited Key West this past July for the first time with my girlfriend. We made reservations online a week previous at the Merlin Guesthouse. The customer service on the phone was the best I have ever experienced. The receptionist’s made our stay relaxing and welcoming from the time we made our reservation until the time we left. Hospitality in a form that I had never experienced before…very professional and knowledgeable about the area as well. They informed us as to where to rent bikes, the best place for a late night dinner, and just about everything we needed to know to get the most out of our trip to Key West. The location is exceptional. Right in the old town and only a block from Duval Street, yet far enough out of the way from all the late night noise. The lighthouse museum is right next door which gives a great view of the island, and the Hemingway house is right across the street. Can’t beat the location!! The room was clean, the pool was clean, complimentary breakfast was delicious, the bar was well kept….not enough good things to say. We will definitely be coming back and will not even think twice about staying anywhere else on the island. As a matter of fact, I have already recommended the Historic Key West Inns hotels to a few friends who have since stayed and loved it as well. Can’t wait to visit again and I hope everyone who plans to get the most out of their Key West vacation will consider staying at with the Historic Key West Inns.

My husband and I stayed one night in a queen room and enjoyed our stay. Check in and check out was very easy, appreciated the help locating a parking spot as well! The room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend others to stay here, location is great! Also appreciated the recommendation for brunch at Blue Heaven, so good! Hope to come back soon!

We stayed here for 4 nights in July and it was very relaxing.  The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.  Our room was not quite ready yet but Kenneth helped us find a place to park the car for the week, and pointed us towards a nice lunch while we waited.  We stayed in room 5, which is a single queen room facing Simonton, but other than a trash truck and a little bit of traffic, it was not to noisy at all.  The room was clean, the bathroom was clean (a HUGE pet peeve of mine) and the bed was very comfortable.  Breakfast every morning was a selection of coffee, tea or juice, assorted cereals and baked goods, eggs and yogurt.  After that there was iced tea available all day by the pool.  It’s conveniently located near the middle of the island so a quick walk or bike ride to the beach, restaurants, Mallory Square, etc, etc and only one street away from Duval.  Would not hesitate to stay here again and again.  If we were going to stay longer, we would probably get a bigger room, but it was really perfect considering we didn’t spend much time in the room at all.

Staying at the Merlin Guesthouse was so enjoyable. It was a comfortable, private setting with just the right amount of space for two people in the Queen room. I loved getting to know some of the other guests at the pool and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Kenneth was there for us all week and he was not only funny but very accommodating! The breakfast in the mornings was perfect and Jordan Del Gato was such a sweetie! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed being walking distance from everything. We were able to park our car and leave it all week. The location is convenient and the property itself is the epitome of Key West! I will definitely stay here next time I visit. Thank you!

What a fantastic place to stay.  From the minute you pull up to register, to their own parking, to the beautiful room (#19 – 2 bedroom suite), to the staff and management, you could not have it any better!   I just shake my head when I think about what a great job this company does with all their properties (yes we’ve stayed with them at the Chelsea House in the past).  All of them are a little unique to themselves but all of them are clean, well run and VERY guest friendly.  Hat’s off to you- your value on great customer service will reward you with repeat customers who will tell others about a superior resort on an island that you can drive to!

From the moment we arrived we loved the place.  Linda at check-in was professional and friendly. She got us checking in promptly (which was good because we were on motorcycles and HOT).  Linda got us situated with perfect parking.  The room (19) was beautiful, clean and spacious.  AMAZING BATHROOM!  And the sheets were so soft.  Relaxing around the patio and pool/spa with plenty of sun and shade and complimentary Iced Tea was heavenly.  We will definitely return.

We were greeted by a wonderful, courteous and extremely helpful front desk lady. She was more than knowledgable about every question that we asked. She even met us around back by our parking spot to make sure we got there ok. The room was amazingly clean and accommodating. Breakfast was always well stocked and staff was very friendly! Great location. We were very, very pleased with our stay! We will definately recommend to our friends!

I highly recommend you enjoying your BEAUTIFUL visit to Key West by staying at the Merlin Guesthouse. The staff (especially miss. Gail) were so accommodating, warm, and helpful. Gail spent an incredible amount of time sitting with us, directing us where to go during our visit, telling us the best places to dine, and even called excursion companies to reserve spots so we could make sure we had a spot on the best trips (Danger Charters — highly recommended!!!!) If you want an intimate, quaint place to stay that’s right near Duval Street, the MGH is just for you. Breakfast was tasty. The pool is an adorable spa size. The rooms are always cleaned nicely. You’ll even meet the sweetest kitty cat, Jordan! Enjoy your stay in the most amazing area in Florida.  And invest your money in the Merlin Guesthouse! Until next time, Key West!

Our room at the Merlin Guesthouse was perfect for my girlfriend and I. Vaulted ceilings made the room look very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. It was very centrally located and provided us with our own parking spot. We were even allowed to keep it for the rest of the day after we checked out! The staff was super accommodating and the breakfast in the morning was icing on the cake! I will recommend Merlin Guesthouse to anyone I know visiting Key West.
