This was definitely a great little find! Place was VERY clean and close enough to Duval, but far enough from Duval as to not hear the noise. Will definitely stay here again!

We were a group of six family members who spent a weekend at Merlin Guesthouse; the Merlin was perfect for our first visit to Key West. The visit began with a wonderful welcome from Linda and continued with our rooms and a real treat, a Kurieg in our rooms! The location is perfect, a block away from Duval Street and in walking distance of the waterfront and many restaurants. We took the Key West Express and took advantage of the services of Paradise Porters, again Linda was very helpful with that service. Great time, great staff, perfect weekend! !

I would highly recommend the Merlin Guesthouse for your stay in Key West!  Check in and check out was a breeze! Great location. Very clean rooms, and a great shower! Linda, at the front desk, was absolutely amazing. I can not say enough good things about her. She was informative, helpful and super friendly!

My fiance and I are from LA were visiting family who lives in South Florida. We wanted a place to stay centrally located to Duval Street. This resort was a perfect location for us and the best rate in that area. The courtyard and breakfast area is very nice. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The service from the staff was excellent: greeting with a smile, prompt and friendly. Our visit in South Florida was an memorial excellent experience in which part of that was at our stay at The Merlin Guesthouse. I wish we had more time to spend at the hotel but I’m sure there’ll be a next time we’re in South Florida!

The location of this property is fabulous. It’s 1 block off Duval Street and 4 or 5 blocks from the beach. There are only about 25 or so rooms at this property, which we really liked. The room that we stayed in (#3) was located at the front of the property which is on Simonton Street. It’s not too noisy, but there is some construction going on a few blocks down the street, and there are some big trucks going up and down the street. That being said, I think the reason for the trucks, is the removal of a firehouse demolition, so this will probably not be an issue within the next few days or a week. The room we had was cozy. But it was updated and clean. And the smallness of the room really didn’t bother us because we don’t spend much time in our room anyway. Also, our room did not have a closet, a coffee maker or a fridge. Not a big deal to us, but if it is to you, then you should ask for a different room type. Of course, I’m sure the price will be a little more.

NOW THE BATHROOM! I readily confess that I am a bathroom nazi. I am WAYYYY picky about the bathroom. And I am pleased to say that this one passed. The bathroom was a decent size and the lighting was bright and fabulous. There was a large mirror over the sink and a large full length mirror on one side of the room. There was also some room around the sink to place toiletries. My only minor issue was the water nozzle in the shower. I prefer a tight water stream and not a wide water stream. This one had a wide stream, although the pressure was decent. So overall the bathroom passed. They also have a really good continental breakfast each morning by the pool, serving hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit (apples, oranges, bananas, etc.), local pastries, muffins, cereal, orange juice and coffee. The staff (especially Kenneth) was extremely helpful and very accommodating, providing great tips on various things around the area. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this guesthouse.

We took a spontaneous trip to the Keys unaware that trying to find overnight accommodations will be so difficult after trying several locations and everything was either sold out extremely expensive or extremely unacceptable living conditions. Then we ran across the Key Lime Inn which the room was extremely comfortable clean and reasonably priced but they only had one day available. We love the Key Lime Inn and believe me, we are very picky.

So with that being said the next day we had to move to the Merlin Guesthouse, another property of the Historic Key West Inns. We were blown away. The little cottage we stayed in was more than we ever expected to bet was bath full kitchen living room. Love the property only problem there is no television in the bedroom which probably shouldn’t of had anyways, it’s a vacation but so used to going to sleep with the television on.  Other than that perfect.  Anytime we go to the keys we will stay there and we have already recommended to all friends and family.  If you’re in the keys this is the PERECT place to stay. Not only for the accommodations but the prompt service. Had a problem with the Internet within two minutes they were at the door and within 30 seconds it was solved. Great location loved it.

Very relaxing.  Most comfortable bed.  Arrived with another couple who had reservations with us.  We had requested first floor rooms, but only one was available, so we had a second floor.  Stairs were a little difficult for us (seniors). Pool and patio were delightful and breakfast in the adjoining area was delicious.  Would definitely stay here again.

This was our 4th year staying at the Merlin Guesthouse so obviously there must be something we like about this place. Let’s see, it’s the service, the location, the price . . . So basically EVERYTHING!! Although it is only one block off of Duval Street it is very, very quiet and relaxing yet walkable to EVERYTHING!!
I can’t say enough about the staff – they make you feel at home from the minute you call to make your reservation to the moment you leave and their mascot (Jordan) is a great ambassador for the animal lovers in all of us.
We will DEFINITELY be back for many years to come!!

Every January, my husband and I travel to Key West for a few days to escape the cold. Previously, we stayed at Albury Court for 3 visits. This year we decided to switch it up and stay at the Merlin Guesthouse for 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. The location is ideal, only 2 blocks from Duval Street. We were checked in quickly and efficiently. Also our room was ready early! We flew into Key West at 11 am so that was great to be able to settle in before venturing out to our favorite spots! The room was clean and stocked with everything we needed. We loved having a front porch that overlooked the street (we ate breakfast there each morning!)

There was also an amazing breakfast offered each morning, by the pool, with lots to choose from including fresh local pastries, coffee and fruit! When checking out, the hotel held our bags for the day while we continued to explore Key West before our flight. They also set up a cab to the airport for us. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Excellent service and value.
