We recently stayed at the Merlin Guesthouse.  We have been guests there several times since moving to S. Florida fifteen years ago.  My mother was also a frequent visitor to the property.  The Merlin never disappoints.  A friendly staff, tasty continental breakfast, updated rooms, pool, and a terrific location (in the heart of downtown) all make for an enjoyable vacation in Old Key West.  We always book one of the cottages since it provides ample room for three or four people.  I never hesitate to recommend the property to friends (one will be a guest for several days later this month) since I know they will be pleased with the accommodations and location.  I highly recommend staying at the Merlin Guesthouse when visiting Key West.

My first time in Key West and Merlin Guesthouse was great.  Shows the attention to detail.

This was our 2nd visit to Key West and our first time staying at the Merlin Guesthouse — we found the room clean,  modern and perfect for our needs — it was a small room, but a perfect fit for us. We took advantage of the daily morning breakfast which I felt was just the right amount of food options before a day exploring the town or a day at the beach. The staff was friendly and professional. The location was excellent and somehow very quiet at night. The pool was small,  but functioned well just to cool off during sunbathing. Lastly, the house cat Jordan was a great addition to our experience! We would definitely  recommend Merlin Guesthouse to friends and will definitely be back.

All I can say is WOW!!!  The Merlin Guesthouse does it again.  We drive from Columbus, Ohio to stay at the Merlin and on our way on March 14, 2015 a tragic accident happened on 1 just three cars in front of us.  In an emotional distress, I called the Merlin to let them know we may not be arriving until after closing due to the road closure.  When I called, Linda (whom we have grown so fondly of) was able to calm us down and let us know that everything will be OK and that we will have a wonderful room waiting for us when we arrive.  She gave us a detailed list of places where we could go to eat and take it easy until traffic was allowed past mile marker 9.  Linda is the epitome of amazing customer service, so much so that she does not treat you like a customer or visitor, but rather as family.

We love the Merlin so much because of its calm, quiet, and stunning tropical atmosphere; it’s hard to believe that the Merlin is just a two minute walk from the wonderful restaurants, shopping, and nightlife of Duval St.  The staff are always so genuinely sweet and the rooms are so beautiful and clean.  To top everything off, the Merlin Guesthouse offers a wonderful complimentary breakfast poolside.  In closing, I have shared my experiences with the Merlin Guesthouse to family and friends, I have followed the Historic Key West Inns on Facebook, and I have fell in love with everything about this little piece of paradise.  Thank you for allowing us to have not a care in the world, to sleep peacefully at night in the comfy beds, and to wake up feeling human, even if it means we are only able to feel that “alive” once a year with you.

Thank you Linda, the Merlin Guesthouse, and everyone at the Historic Key West Inns for making our trip this spring one to remember.

We had a lovely stay at the Merlin Guesthouse.  The King Suite was the perfect size for the two of us.  Bed was so comfortable. Loved that we could walk everywhere.  The Continental breakfast was perfect, too, if you just want to grab a quick bite in the morning before going to the beach!  Jordan, the cat, greeted us every morning while having our coffee. Property and room were spotless.

Definitely would stay there again on our next Key West vacation!

Thanks for a great vacation!  Tanya

This is such a wonderful place found in a quiet section of old Key West and close enough to the center of activity on Duval St, Greene St, and Caroline St. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast is tasty and simple.  The staff is cheery and the cat is always willing to let you pet him.

The Merlin Guesthouse is something between a hotel and a bed & breakfast, with a relaxing atmosphere, inviting courtyard, and great location.

My trip to Florida started off rough. The Merlin Guesthouse turned it around.  The staff was amazing, rooms perfectly decorated and so clean.  I wish we didn’t have to leave (I don’t like the heat and I wanted to stay). Thank you for really making my trip so much better.

The Merlin Guesthouse was the perfect place to relax and enjoy Key West. Our room was just perfect facing the courtyard, comfortable bed and adorably decorated. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous. Breakfast served daily in the pool area gazebo was just right to start our days of exploring beautiful Key West! You could not beat the location as it is right in the center of everything we wanted to see. I would highly recommended this lovely property and we will definitely be back to stay!

We have stayed at Merlin Guesthouse three times and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay every time. The staff is friendly and courteous, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and it is conveniently located….quiet, yet within easy walking distance to all activities. We have recommended this guesthouse to friends and family, and plan to stay again on a future visit if room is available.
