My husband and I were delighted to be able to find a room at the Merlin Guesthouse for our one night in Key West. We were able to park the car on the street around the corner, and left it there during our stay. The inn is well-situated in the middle of the tourist area, but off of busy Duval Street. The room on the first floor off the porch was small, but impeccably clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed some time in the spa/pool after a busy day of sightseeing. As we returned to our room after dinner, we noticed a cute gecko in the light on the porch. However, I didn’t want him in our room, so my husband plugged up the small space at the top of the door with a towel.
Breakfast on the patio was tasty, with lots of choices. However, I was surprised that at a B&B (and at the prices charged in KW) there were no homemade breads or muffins offered. My husband liked the individual containers of cereal, instead of a large dispenser.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Merlin, and would recommend it to visitors to Key West.By: Iris O'Brien on April 9, 2013
