We recently stayed at the Cypress House Hotel for 7 nights in celebration of our 10th wedding anniversary. We had a King room with porch, and loved our room. The size was perfect, although I did have an issue with all the light at night. We live out in the country, so I’m accustomed to total darkness at night. The front porch light of our room was always on and is bright coming in those front windows. The last few nights, we closed the outside front shutters, which helped some, but it still had a lot of light coming in the other windows in the room, which we couldn’t access the shutters to. Curtains would do a lot to help with this. Also, the ceiling fan only had 2 working speeds, low or high; just like Goldilocks, low was too low, and high was too high. Other than those two things, we were very pleased with our room and the hotel as a whole. Breakfast and liming hour were very nice amenities. All the staff that we met were very friendly and helpful, and all were knowledgeable about things around town as well.
The location of this hotel was extremely convenient for us. We were only a short walk away from the grocery store Fausto’s, and we also spent a lot of our time in the A&B Marina area, so a very short walk there as well. Our favorite restaurant there was the Boathouse; we went there almost every day. Of course Sloppy Joe’s is a must go when in Key West, and we went there once or twice; same thing, it was a very short walk, so very convenient.
The location of this hotel was superb, and the value that we got, I think was excellent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone planning to go to Key West, and we will definitely be booking this hotel for our next stay! Knowing how amazing of a hotel this is takes a lot of pressure off of future trip planning, because we already know where we want to stay!By: Carrie Curiel on August 19, 2016
