Our stay at the Key Lime Inn in Old Town Key West was spontaneous. We came to Key West from Key Largo without a place to stay. The Key Lime Inn happened to be in a brochure we had so we called to see if there were any openings. And…we lucked out! The reservation receptionist who greeted us on the phone was very kind and made sure that we were accommodated at a excellent price.
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Key Lime Inn. It had a home-like feel, a tropical new-age charm, a hint of lime at every corner 🙂 The happy receptionist checked us in quickly since we wanted to make sunset at Mallory Square. She also kindly recommended the nearest bike shop to get us some wheels to meet the sunset in time.
As we walked to our room there was a cozy swinging chair connected to a large tree. Already, we knew that we scored with this place! As we walked we noticed a lovely deck by an aqua outdoor pool surrounded by palm trees. This was the place, the receptionist said, that breakfast would be served.
Breakfast by the poolside…can’t get much better than that! The room was very elegant and the design matched the colors and look of the hotel.
Just two blocks away is Duval street. We felt like we were in the heart of Key West, yet removed enough to still feel calm and relaxed.
We will definitely stay at the Key Lime Inn on our next visit and would highly recommend it to any other newlyweds or hard-workers looking to “get away from it all.” It was truly a slice of paradise.
