Our trip to Key West was a sort of spur of the moment plan, and I managed to get lucky by booking the second to last room available for the three days we stayed on the island at Lighthouse Court Hotel. At first I was worried that my rash booking based on the inexpensiveness of the hotel in comparison to other places on the island may have been a mistake, but when we arrived we were more than pleased.
We got to the hotel a couple of hours before check-in but it wasn’t a problem because the staff at the front desk courteously sent us to the bar and pool area to relax after our six hour drive while they finished cleaning the room but we only had to wait for a few minutes before they called us back, saying the room was ready. The room was everything and more that we could have hoped for, it was clean and most importantly, it smelled clean! The bathroom was very spacious and the room was classically decorated and comfortable. Aside from the bed that was oh-so-easy to sleep in, the location of the hotel was everything!
The fact that it was steps away from the Hemingway house was an excitement for me and once we found a place to park our car we could walk just about everywhere we wanted to go because Duval street with all of its shops and galleries and restaurants was only one block away. We’ve only been back home for a week but I’ve already recommended Lighthouse Court Hotel to several friends and coworkers because our stay there was beyond perfection. The only thing that could have improved it was for us to stay longer!By: Chloe Cash on August 17, 2015
