After arriving in Key West and finding that our vacation rental, reserved and paid for on-line, was a scam, we were thinking of where we could stay. Luckily, I visit Key West, at least, once a month, so I knew we’d be OK. I had stayed at the Chelsea House, one of the Key West Historic Inns properties, which was lovely.
We were close to the Albury Court. We were very lucky to get a room, as there were three major events taking place in town. When we checked in, we were told we were the second group THAT DAY that were victims of cybercrime. There were three of us, a girls week, and our spirits were not to be dampened! Our room was perfect for us, #22, two queen beds, one with a fireplace, two TVs, two separately operated air conditioners, very quiet, a kitchen, huge bathroom with lots of counter space, a jacuzzi, and big walk-in shower, quite spacious, and Rusk bath products. There is also a semi-private patio for this room. Two suggestions, if possible, add a full-length mirror, perhaps on back of bathroom door, or, in the back bedroom. The other is that the floor around the outside of the shower needs a good scrubbing, some mildew.
There is a lovely pool area, almost like a private backyard, where continental breakfast is offered in the mornings. Albury Court is conveniently located, close to Duval St, Front St, etc. I do believe they are pet friendly, as well. If you have a car, street parking is not always available close by, especially on weekends, but, the public parking garage is very close, across the street, $13 a day. We parked there, never moved. Worth it for us. The entire staff was so kind and sympathetic to our circumstances, making changes to accommodate our extended stay, which I do realize is not always possible.
If you want that magical, relaxed Key West vibe, then Albury Court is a must.By: on February 9, 2014
