We love Merlin Guesthouse. When we visit Key West, it’s the only place we consider staying. It’s conveniently located just off Duval Street and within walking distance of everything in Old Town. We’ve stayed in many different rooms from the economy on the front porch to, most recently, a guest cottage. All have been great–clean and homey. I’ve been told, as well, that most bathrooms have been upgraded. Our guest cottage was well appointed and featured a full kitchen as well as a private bedroom. The tile bathroom is amazing.
As for the staff, well, all were outstanding from Cindy to Linda to Kenneth to Lee. The housekeeping staff were always friendly and efficient. We felt they catered to our every need.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Jordan Del Gato. He is the face of the property. What a wonderful resident cat! My wife and I look forward to to seeing him almost as much as anything else in the Keys. I know we’re not the only returning guests who feel so about Jordan. He was always at our door to greet us each morning. This year, he took a special liking to our grandson, Deacon. A suggestion: perhaps you could have t-shirts with Jordan’s photo and the Merlin Logo on the back. (Historic Key West Inns would be printed on the pocket). I’ll bet they’d sell very well. I know of two folks who would purchase one.
We’ll return again next year and also be sure to recommend Merlin Guesthouse to all who plan on visiting Key West.By: Charlie Cole on November 25, 2014
