I took a chance and booked our stay at Merlin Guesthouse from a website only. Our dates were available (we stayed 5 nights in April) and the rates were do-able. My husband and I were visiting Key West so that I could complete my scuba certification, and he had never visited the Keys. (Sarah at Dive Key West, Inc. did a great job.) We were so very pleased with what we found at Merlin. I asked to see the room first which they gracefully guided me to and gave me the tour. The king room was very roomy and immaculate as was the bath. There was a big white comfy couch and shiny floor tiles. We had plenty of comfortable seating outside on the porch and on the grounds, with a sweet little swim spa. Our hostess/manager Linda was welcoming, funny and nice. We felt right at home during our entire visit. There is a sweet little restaurant across the street with excellent selections. (Sorry I can’t remember its name.)  There was pickleball about a mile away on weekend mornings and an AA clubhouse nearby on Virginia St. that I walked to, and a sweet little Episcopal Church close by that my husband walked to. I am a hotel/motel snob and I highly recommend Merlin Guesthouse.

WE loved this hotel. Front desk was great, gave us plenty of pool and beach towels. We were able to leave our luggage in the lobby till the ferry left.  The breakfast was good, loved the ham & cheese croissants. The pool is small but had seating all around. Room was clean. The only down side was a lot of traffic noise in the morning. We used ear plugs and were fine.

Stayed Saturday to Monday, convenient to the Key West ferry, three blocks, the room was cozy and clean (cold), $5 taxi ride to Duval street for the drinkers  loved the breakfast and lazy lounging at the pool. Did not see anything that would not make me stay here again and again. Front desk was friendly and very helpful on any question we had. A must stay for anyone looking for a clean nice place to stay.

Everything was perfect!  Everyone on the desk staff was very pleasant, welcoming, competent, and professional.  Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable; we would definitely stay at Cypress House when in Key West,  and we have recommended it highly to our travel agent as well.  Thanks for a great time!

Thank You, Albury Court! Stayed overnight for my daughter’s 21st birthday celebration. The ladies at the check-in desk were absolutely fantastic and so welcoming! They provided us with great recommendations for dining and general information. The room was clean, comfortable, perfect. I like the fact that the hotel is very well lit on the outside, which was great to come home to late night after walking from Duval Street. Wish we could have stayed one more day to enjoy the little courtyard pool area. Next time, for sure. Once again, thank you for a wonderful experience!

We stayed for 3 nights in room 32. We were pleased with the size of the room and the kitchen facilities. The entire staff was professional, courteous and responsive to our needs. The room was clean and comfortable. Check in and check out was perfect. I would recommend this place to a friend.

From the first step into the office we were greeted warmly by Linda and given every bit of help with good places to eat (we loved Le Bistro for lunch). Kenneth, the next couple days, helped us with a place to rent bikes (Eaton’s) and they even delivered them. All the other staff were very friendly as well and kept our room spotless. We had a queen size guest room so it was not spacious. But we did not spend that much time in the room anyway! The pool is small (can’t do laps!) but it was certainly very relaxing surrounded by lush gardens. The breakfast each morning in these same lush gardens was delightful. Terrific coffee, juice, fruit, bagels, muffins and my favorite, croissants with ham and cheese hidden inside! They also had cereal, yogurt, hardboiled eggs. Plenty to eat for your morning meal. We ate at several places besides Le Bistro. Caroline’s had great salads and a terrific hamburger. Square One for a late dinner with just several appetizers was top notch. Our favorite though was Santiago Bodega, just down the street from Merlin. It’s a tapas place and so delicious. Dinner you need reservations, but for lunch you can usually walk right in.

If you want a nice getaway, relaxing in every aspect, the Merlin Guesthouse is the place for you. It is off Duval one street over but quiet and very convenient to most places, especially on a bike! We’d go again in a minute!

Clean, cute and totally Key West. Great location, easy walk to everything. Very friendly staff, able to help us with all our questions and where to park after we checked out. Would stay here again or any of the other properties, they all looked beautiful.

We drove to Key West for one night and did not have reservations anywhere.  Upon entering the downtown area, we saw the vacancy sign for Albury Court.  The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful and offered a nice discounted rate since we were booking later in the afternoon.  We were pleasantly surprised when we checked into our room.  The 2 bedroom accommodations were very nice and very private.  It was a nice to be sharing the room with another couple.  We also had a small roof top deck near our room so we were able to enjoy sitting outside when we returned for the evening!   Would love to stay here again!

First time coming here and I had a wonderful stay. The staff were very polite and friendly. I’ll admit when I first arrived I was a bit aggravated not being able to find parking. I parked in the fifteen minute parking space and was told to leave my car there until a parking space could be found. Well my car ended up staying there the whole time but it was good for me. I felt special. Front row parking! I felt like I was VIP status. :) Anyway, thank you again for a wonderful stay. :)
