It was a late Saturday night, or one can say a very early Sunday morning. I had been on the ipad for the better of four hours trying to find a place for Monday, see it was my two year anniversary and I promised that I would find a place to stay in key west, since I’ve never been. Of course like the typical male that I am, stalled till basically the day before to book a room, from pictures on whatever website, i knew that she wasn’t going to be happy, but I was on a budget, and tired.

When we arrived at the hotel desk we were met by an awesome guy with a Irish or Scottish accent (never been good with distinguishing accents) who informed us on not just hotel policies but things to do on the island in a professional yet friendly way. After the advice on our journey we headed to the room. THE ROOM was completely different then what I saw in pictures online! Wooden floors with dark wood stands and a hint of modern thrown in. For the price and the little two minute walk to duval, its completely worth it. The room isn’t huge but for sure won’t make you feel cramped, it’s welcoming and cozy.

There was a free breakfast that consisted of light food (I don’t think I would have made it walking around on eggs, bacon and coffee with the heat) which helped with getting the day started and getting rid of hang overs.  We were told by a staff member to eat at sunset piers in Mallory square during sunset and After, a little dancing at sloppy joes and we were not disappointed. My girlfriend, being the hard headed control freak she is, had actually called after I booked worrying about the room and was reassured that they were remodeled and looked nothing at all like the outdated pictures she saw online. Always go to the hotels website for the right room pictures. Lol. My mother loved the pics I sent her of the Chelsea and is going to stay there in December for a couple of days. The Chelsea will be our go to when heading down to key west because of the memories and laughs we had here.

Hi,
I am so happy to have a chance to write a review regarding our recent vacation to the Merlin Guesthouse.  Our stay was for seven days and what a glorious seven days it was!  We were delighted with the friendliness of the Merlin staff.  They were always helpful and wanted to make sure we were always having a good time.  Merlin Guesthouse was the perfect setting for a “Key West” vacation.  Our room was very open and bright and well maintained.  The breakfast every morning around the pool always started our day off on a relaxed, casual note.  I can’t wait to come back to the Merlin Guesthouse.  It was the best vacation I have ever been on.

We arrived on Thursday 8/7/14 at Chelsea House for the weekend and received a warm and friendly welcome from the staff who was professional, courteous and knowledgeable about the town, activities, restaurants and interesting places to visit. Our suite 33 B was pleasant, inviting, clean, comfortable and added to the expected refrigerator and microwave, we were gladly surprised to discover an oven, kitchen utensils, a little dining room table with 2 chairs, a leather sofa and table, and a nice balcony facing the street. The air-conditioning unit and the two ceiling fans worked perfectly. The expected parking lot was very convenient. The hotel was quiet at night, the continental breakfast was appropriate; we especially appreciated the croissants, boiled eggs and yogurts. All in all, it was a wonderful experience worth to be repeated.  For some constructive criticisms, we offer the following: 1) a full-size mirror should be added to the room, 2) the breakfast should vary food items, having the same breakfast every day is tiring; offer different fruits, different baked goods, 3) an iron and iron table should be included in each room- it didn’t make sense to us that we had to physically go to the front desk to pick them up, additionally a full-size iron table should be available since the small iron-table easily hurts one’s lower back while ironing; 4) the closet door and bathroom door did not close properly, 5) some imperfections in the wall painting could be observed on the left side of the wall when facing the bathroom and on the left wall when facing the bed; the garbage dumpster should have a cover so as to hide its view from the balcony…just some little comments. Finally, we would like to congratulate the staff and the manager of the hotel and promise ourselves that we will certainly come back.

Had it all:  location, pool, atmosphere, great room (two Queens, kitchenette), private outside patio area, in addition to the pool area, bar, superior continental breakfast (hard boiled eggs).  Warm and helpful front desk and all staff friendly that we ran into.  Room was clean, modern yet Keys like enough.  Bed comfy.  Parking could of been an issue but was not.  Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Key Lime Inn is a great place to stay and A GREAT VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY. Convenient to Duval St and just about anything else you would want, ie., casual dining restaurants (Abodanza-good Italian food at a very reasonable price and generous portions), Denny’s, and some specialty dining as well. The Trolley stop is only 2 blocks away, so you can take the trolley and leave the car parked. The pool is very nice and was never crowded while we were there. The breakfast is minimal, but always fresh and well stocked. The staff is very friendly and can provide you with all the info you need to enjoy your stay.

They are particularly accommodating to bikers, as you can park your bike in the courtyard under the tree or next to your cabin in some cases. Upon check-in, we found a non-functioning refrigerator. I reported it to the desk clerk and within 10-15 minutes David (maintenance) was there to check it out and replaced it immediately. Can’t say enough about our experience at Key Lime Inn–IT WAS GREAT! We will stay there again when we visit Key West.

Stayed two nights at Key Lime Inn it was the most amazing time!  The staff was super nice and extremely professional.  The grounds were maintained and the room was clean and cozy.  The check in and check out process was very smooth all of our questions were answered.  The Inn was like a hidden jewel in the middle of town very peaceful and tranquil, I would certainly recommend the Inn to others and look forward to our return trip.

Went for the weekend with my wife was just what we were looking for.  Quaint hotel away from the hustle and bustle but within walking distance to Duval Street.  Staff was very courteous and helpful.   Rooms were small but clean.  Would definitely stay there again.

We always stay at the Chelsea House when we’re in Key West.  We’ve tried other places, but always end up back at the Chelsea.  The staff is incredibly nice & accommodating.  The walk to Duval is 5 minutes away.  The grounds & pool are so relaxing that you don’t want to leave.  Already looking forward to our next visit!
