Our stay at the Chelsea House was beyond compare. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, everyone involved with the hotel was so good to us. I’m not listing names because it truly was everyone. Every question was answered both respectfully and honestly. The room was also very clean and enjoyable. And the breakfast outside was so very pleasing. It was our first trip to Key West and Chelsea House helped to make it memorable. We will definitely recommend it to our family and friends! Thank you for everything!

The location was great and we walked everywhere, from the Southernmost Point up to Mallory Square.  Although the room was small and there wasn’t much surface space in the bathroom, it was cosy and clean plus it was nice to have a little private patio with chairs.  It would have been a plus to have a fridge in our type of room but we made do with getting ice from the machine.  We only stayed one night (wish it was longer) but all the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful.  The breakfast was plentiful but had too much unhealthy sugary items in my opinion.  It was nice sitting by the pool in the morning.  We really enjoyed our stay and am glad we chose lovely Key Lime Inn instead of a chain hotel.

Greetings to All;

Thank you so much for the opportunity to write a review on our stay at the Chelsea House.  We stayed with you from March 22nd – 28th of this year and arranged our wedding through you as well !

We cannot say enough good things about our stay there.  We both loved Key West and will return and are even looking for some magical way we can live there in  our retirement, but also so enamored with your hotel as well.

The reservation process was excellent – personal, professional and even flexible as we moved our initial reservation from the Merlin to Chelsea.  When we arrived, the check in process was fast and efficient as all the paperwork was already there and waiting for us.  The check out process was equally smooth, professional and friendly.  Your administrative staff in the main office are excellent and helpful even when I was looking for 4 clean champagne flutes to take with us to get married!

Our room was 33a which we LOVED.  It was immaculate, spacious and well laid out.  We had ample storage and hangers which is a rarity.  Your in-room toiletries were lovely as well, and I’m really picky about that.  Our only small suggestions would be – and they are specific to this room – is that the bedside window faces the front of the property with the motion detector light and it goes off constantly all night which brings a significant amount of glaring light into the room. I know the shutters are better looking but the black out drapes work much better…. and secondly (and it is a small thing) it would make a lot more sense to move the towel hook away from the light switch and move them across from the shower, to the left side of the door.  I was always fumbling behind a towel to turn on the light!  Finally, I think a hand towel holder by the sink would be great, we had to keep ours folded ON the sink.

Beyond that, we just loved the hotel which reminded us both so much of “The Fantastic Marigold Hotel”.  A funny collection of people from all round, meeting at the pool or for breakfast and chatting in this little oasis just steps from Duval St.

Some staff really stood out – Frankie who looked after us and our room, she is just so delightful.  Barbara who seemed to look after the cleaning staff and breakfast was charming and warm and wonderful as well.  Mary Simmons who organized and officiated our wedding was superb as well, she really made it a great day for us.

I would so much recommend your hotel to anyone – for all the things I’ve mentioned above but also your amazing location and parking which is a true rarity in Key West.  In terms of excellent restaurants and bars, why yes, we’ve got some ones that we give 4 stars too:

Bars:  Green Parrot, Capt. Tony’s.

Restaurants: The Café (we’re vegetarians); La Trattoria (old Key West) had great service and great Italian food; Blue Heaven had the most amazing location and the best vegetarian meal I’ve ever had.

I hope this review is useful to you and that it makes you even more proud of your hotel !

Many thanks again,

Kelly Stalker & Howard Chisvin

  • Location is great.  We were in #12 of Key Lime and although the road and neighbors were noisy on a few occasions, it was a fairly private location with a nice balcony were we sat enjoying the weather and view of the trees.
  • Room was nice.  At first it was stuffy but we threw open the 1 door and 1 window that opened to get fresh air and turned the ceiling fan on.  We left the window and door open most of the time until the humidity rose the last day of our stay.  It would be nice if the room had more natural ventilation.
  • Suggestion — turn the AC and lights off in unoccupied rooms to be more “green”, esp the AC when the temps are less than 80F.   And, provide an option for just coffee replacement — towels and sheets don’t need to be replaced each day.  (Note from the Key Lime Inn staff: lights and air conditioning are turned on in a room when we are expecting a guest to check in; guests prefer to arrive and relax in a cool, inviting room. Our green policy is that we change sheets for the guests every third day unless there is obvious need beforehand or a request by the guest to change them daily)
  • All the STAFF were GREAT —  friendly and helpful.

Having never been to Key West, I searched online for a reasonably priced place to stay. The location was great, and very easy to get everywhere. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was quaint, quiet and comfortable. The pool was big enough to cool off if need be. I really enjoyed my stay!

We stayed two days in late March at the Albury Court in Key West and loved it! The check-in and out process was very smooth. The hotel personnel were very helpful, courteous, and responsive to our needs. The rooms are nicely decorated. They are clean, modern, and well-laid out. The fridge and safe that were included were a definite plus. Outside the room was the lovely pool for the hotel with a cascading waterfall. It felt like we were in our own private oasis. We also loved the location of the hotel, since it was within walking distance of most of the attractions. I would highly recommend staying here and we plan to return again in the future.

I have been going to Key West for many, many years and I must have passed the Cypress House countless times. I am so glad that we ended up staying here on our recent trip. Our room was large and quiet which we requested. If you request a room that is not street front, it will be much quieter. The room was clean and spacious. The pool was also fantastic. We spent a whole day just lounging at their pool. Breakfast was more than just continental. They had egg sandwiches and other small hot egg items that changed daily in addition to fruit, oatmeal, cereal, breads, bagels, juice and coffee. I did not make it to any of the happy hours but I was told by a friend that they have a certain amount of alcohol for happy hour and once it is gone, happy hour ends. So get there early if you want to benefit from happy hour! It’s proximity to everything was perfect. We barely needed a cab and we walked most places. In summary, the Cypress House was perfect for us. We are a young couple that likes to party and go out but come back to a relaxing, chill place to sleep. We will absolutely stay there the next time we are in Key West.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Lighthouse Court Hotel. The staff were very friendly everywhere on the property. Our room was superb. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Bartender great! The atmosphere around the rooms is like you are in your own private home. Within 2-3 blocks of great restaurants and Duval street. We will definitely stay here again.

Matthew was particularly responsive to us when we checked in allowing us to choose which King room we preferred. Breakfast was delightful by the pool except hard to balance plate and eat; wasn’t until the last day that we noticed the table and chairs set up under the tent.  Cleaning staff had to be called at 4 pm after we returned from an afternoon out because they had not gotten to the room yet.  Did enjoy the modern facilities in an historic building.  Lots of charm.
