Our stay was so relaxing, from the relaxing court yard to large walk in shower. The only thing I would like to have had was a coffee pot in the room.

Andrea and I came to Key West on Friday, November 23, 2012 and stayed two nights at the Cypress House. Though this was my tenth trip to Key West in the past 25 years, and Andrea’s second though the first was simply a day visit while on a cruise, I had never stayed any place outside of a hotel. This time my intention was to do what I could to introduce Andrea to the side of Key West beyond the Duval Street experience and try to bring a little more historical imagery into our time spent on the island. The centerpiece to that was to stay in an inn somewhere in “the neighborhood” and the Cypress House was my choice. We truly enjoyed the experience.

It was so nice to be away from Duval Street, to readily access and walk the surrounding streets, to try the establishments that the “Duval Crawlers” generally don’t visit, and relax somewhat. I did throw a lot at Andrea by us walking a substantial portion of west Key West but she did enjoy it. Yes, we were on Duval Street (sadly it has turned into any other tourist trap I have been to and has lost so much of its charm of so many years ago, but oh well), yes we found a few new places coupled with a few old haunts, but we knew that each night we would return to quiet comfort of the Cypress House.

The staff were terrific, the restfulness was comforting, the Happy Hour was “happily enjoyed” and the breakfast sparked the start of each morning. We had a wonderful stay at the Cypress House and if and when we once again are able to return to Key West you can be assured that we will try to include the Cypress House, or maybe one of the other related properties, in our consideration for our island habitation. As well, I will encourage others in our circle who might want to visit Key West, to strongly consider experiencing what we did by staying at the Cypress House.

Thank you for helping us have a truly enjoyable visit to Key West.

Cordially,

Marty Piepenbrok, and in concert with Andrea Haze

This is our 3rd, maybe 4th, time staying at Lighthouse Court Hotel and we were very happy with some of the changes we saw on the property.  It’s been a few years since our last visit and we noticed the shaded area was cleared out and hammocks added, plus games.  Very nice touch!  Including the completion of the Mojito Bar & Cafe area!  If there is any suggestion I would make for an improvement is simply start coffee time at 7:30a instead of 8a.  We weren’t the only ones who were ready for a cup of coffee at that time so I don’t feel like the only crazy early riser.  I got some help from a rooster or two.  :-)  Otherwise, we love the property, our room and bed was comfy, and the staff are so incredibly nice!  I love both Denice and Jeremiah who were ever so helpful.  We’ll see you again soon!

My 2nd time staying at the Merlin. I travel alone from Vermont to Key West once a year for Thanksgiving week. Last week I stayed at the Merlin again. Linda and Ken are the best staffers I have ever come across. Both are very personable, friendly and will do anything to make sure my stay was excellent. I love chatting with Ken and Linda has a warm personality and makes you feel at home. The rooms are always clean. The housekeepers are nice and do a great job. The free breakfast and coffee is nice to wake up to. Overall A++ Best in Key West, will stay again. Give Ken and Linda  raise!!

For us, the perfect location. The room was very “cottage like” not like a hotel. The bathroom was updated, however the water leaked in our room out of the shower onto the bathroom floor, completely soaking it.  Also, the TV should be in the bedroom as the only time we were interested in turning it on would have been the few minutes before we went to sleep.  Otherwise the room was clean, the property was nice (pool, mojito bar) and the staff was just super. Breakfast was good. Would probably stay again.

We had a very nice room . The area was nice and close to everything. The room was on the street and that was very noisy , we awakened many times because of trucks and other noises. We wished we knew  because we would have picked a different part of the guesthouse. The pool area was great and the the breakfast was very good. We had a great time any way.

We enjoyed our stay at the Key Lime Inn – friendly, helpful staff; clean room; nice continental breakfast.  Good buy for the price.

This was our second overnight visit to Key West, and our first stay at the Chelsea House. We were pleased to find the Chelsea House, as we invited our son and daughter-in-law to join us during our brief visit.  The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome immediately upon arrival, as well as speaking with Jeremiah on the phone when making our reservations.

Although the Economy Queen rooms are smaller, they are very clean and met our needs for our stay;  they do have other larger rooms. The property is centrally  located and within easy walking distance of practically all attractions within Key West.  THe pool area provided a welcome respite and oasis from the hustle and bustle that can be Key West, especially when a cruise ship or two are in port.  The ice tea provided for guests by the pool is a nice touch.  Perhaps a few simple sugar cookies could be provided to satisfy that mid-day sugar demand.

Breakfast was satisfying, and could be enhanced by fresh fruit, such as bananas, sliced melon, etc.

There will be no hesitation on our part in recommending to friends that the Chelsea House should be at the top of their list for a place to stay in Key West.

I spent 4 days here for the Offshore Championship boat races and enjoyed every minute of it.  The staff was very friendly and helpful.  The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and it’s within walking distance of just about everything you’d want to do.  Free, onsite parking is always a big plus in KW as well.  It’s a really nice Keys-style alternative to the big resort hotels.
