We stayed at Lighthouse Court Hotel for a quick getaway for my birthday the second week of September. After a confusing check-in process caused by my not bringing the credit card that I charged the room to, absolutely not because of my bank’s policies, we were upgraded and directed to a beautifully modern room facing the Hemingway House.

A tour of the grounds, pool area and bar told us we had picked the right place to stay. This hotel is at the end of the commercially developed part of Duval St and required a short bit of walking to see all there was. We have been to Key West many times before and didn’t need to cover all of it.

After a good night’s sleep, breakfast was served in the pool area and we were out at 11:00AM. I should add that breakfast was very complete and tasty!

The next time we return to Key West for a stay I will surely stay at Lighthouse Court Hotel again.

We only stayed one night, but the Merlin Guest House is located in a great area just off Duval street. Very clean and quiet location, will stay again without a doubt.

My husband and I got into Key West late Friday night and did not have a reservation. We found a room at Albury Court Hotel and it was perfect! Clean, spacious and lots of amenities! The continental breakfast by the pool was a great way to start our day. Although everyone was super nice and helpful, I do have to put the spotlight on one particular employee… Keisaan. He really went above and beyond. He got me beach towels, an iron, looked for me some lotion and even printed my boarding passes for our flight when we left. I will never forget how well we were treated at your property and guarantee we will stay with you the next time we are in Key West!!! (Hopefully at New Years ūüėä)

This was the first time staying at one of their Historic Key West Inns hotels and I loved it.  The location was quiet, the room was clean, and the mojito bar was great.  I would definitely recommend.

We checked in the Chelsea House Hotel on a Monday in mid-October at around 5pm. We had had several conversations with them via both email and telephone before arriving. We were especially worried about Hurricane Matthew and its effects on Key West and our vacation. Each contact we had with Chelsea House seemed to further cement my feelings that we had chosen a great place to stay for our vacation. We had also had concerns about being near the pool as we didn’t want a lot of noise; they chose room #10 for us which is on the ground floor right around the corner from the pool and a straight shot to the parking area where I would park my motorcycle and our rental scooter. For other motorcycle riders just a note, the parking area is compressed gravel, or more like pebbles. I really don’t like gravel when on the bike, but this proved to be a non-issue during our stay for two reasons, first it’s very compressed so you don’t really slide and at parking lot speeds, it won’t bother you, second, we didn’t move the bike after check in until the day we left. It’s much easier in Key West to get around on a scooter than a big Harley, and I highly recommend Sunshine Scooter Rental.

The check-in was pleasant and easy; we had been riding on the motorcycle for about 8 hours and we were very tired but hungry. I told the check-in clerk the I wanted fresh, fried seafood for dinner and she recommended a place for us that turned out to be great!

Our room was very nice; queen bed (which was very comfortable, slightly firm) with nice linens, and bedside tables and lamps on both sides, nice sized flat screen TV, a comfortable chair, a dresser, and a large walk in closet (with a security safe on the back wall for your valuables). Be advised, most of the rooms at Chelsea House (I was told) do not have closets, so we felt lucky! The bathroom was simple and elegant. A shower only with very good water pressure and plenty of nice linens. The whole room was spotless and well decorated and the most important amenity, quiet! We found a Demi-bottle of Prosecco on ice with two champagne flutes waiting for us in our room, which I thought was very nice. My wife had told them we were visiting Key West for our wedding anniversary, they must have noted this and left the Prosecco for us to celebrate.

The first morning, I went to the pool for breakfast. I think the host at the pool was “Shirley,” she greeted me warmly and directed me to the coffee that was strong, dark, and hot; a great way to start the day in Key West! They also had cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, bananas, apples, and juice. By the way, the breakfast does not start at the crack of dawn, so if you need coffee early, they have a Keurig in the office, which I used once as well. Before we headed out for our first day’s adventure in Key West and a visit to the Butterfly Conservatory (which I highly recommend), I mentioned to the Front Desk Clerk the my wife’s back was bothering her from several days riding the motorcycle. I asked for a couple extra pillows (there were already four). That evening, we found in our room that they had accommodated my request and I really appreciated that.

I used the pool itself on one occasion to cool off and it was very refreshing. The temperature was perfect and it wasn’t crowded or loud. They supply towels at the pool so no need to bring one from your room and there were plenty of chairs, tables, and also chaise lounges for sunbathing and covered areas as well for relaxing out of the sun.

On one evening, my Wife and I relaxed on the small porch outside our room door. The patio furniture was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed a Cuban cigar while my wife had a drink. It was very pleasant.

On our final night in Key West, we opted for a more luxurious dinner, something a little different than usual Key West fare. We went to the La Trattoria Restaurant which was absolutely wonderful! While they still allow the laid-back casual attire Key West is known for, the food and service were anything but casual. It was amazing and I could eat the escargot every night of the week!

If I were to make any suggestions to the management at Chelsea House, it would simply be this; I would invest in luggage stands and store them under the beds in each room and leave a note in the room that they can found under the bed. Many people simply don’t want to unpack and others don’t want to leave their luggage open on the floor. A minor suggestion, and I am sure I am not the first to mention it.

Check-out was equal to check-in, painless and quick. Our room was well worth it for Key West and a bargain at the Chelsea House Hotel considering all the amenities, comfort, and superior service from the staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the Chelsea House Hotel, and would visit again.  All of the host staff made us felt welcomed and I truly believe each genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay there and were willing to help us if needed.

This was our refuge from the hurricane and it couldn’t have worked out better.

The staff is incredible.

The room was super and the bed was sooo comfortable.

Happy hour and breakfast we superb.

I don’t have anything but praise for this hotel. It is our new go to place in Key West.

Our one night stay at Chelsea House was wonderful, the accommodations are nice but the staff is the real reason we would return. I’m terrible on names however the young lady and her trainee at both check in and check out couldn’t be more efficient or more accommodating. I firmly believe it is the people who make a business successful and you have the right people at Chelsea House Hotel.

My stay at the Key Lime Inn was delightful, starting with check-in, which was easy and efficient.  Because I was leaving early to fly to the Dry Tortugas one morning, the night clerk was so kind to find me some milk, yogurt, and fruit for my breakfast since I was leaving before the buffet.  BTW, the seaplane ride was an absolute thrill!  Location was perfect for walking everywhere and I did not have concerns about being by myself.  Hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet.

Our first trip to Key West.  Wanted something close to marina for KW Express, close to Old Town and Duval St./Mallory Square, clean, quiet and affordable.

Check, Check and Check.
