Just returned from our second visit to the Cypress House Hotel. We have been frequenting Key West for a few years and can’t believe we only recently found this gem! The location is absolutely perfect, making both Duval and the Marina within very close walking distance. Cypress house serves a delicious morning breakfast to start your day and late afternoon appetizers and drinks are served at the perfect timing for a rest and swim at the hotel before heading back out for a night on the town. This will surely be our new go to hotel for our kid free getaways from now on.

Our stay at the Merlin Guest House was wonderful.  Our room was #9, one of the smaller rooms available, but we don’t need much, mostly a place to sleep and clean up.  The bed was SO comfortable, probably the most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in besides my own.  The walls are thick or well insulated, we couldn’t hear our neighbors or any other outside noises, though it wasn’t very noisy at the Merlin house anyway.  The grounds are peaceful and gave me the sense of a tropical hideaway, very relaxing and spent some time reading in the hammock.  The pool is a bit smaller than the pictures lead me to believe, but I wasn’t there to swim laps, it was cool and refreshing either for a morning wake up dip or an afternoon cool off.  The staff is friendly and very helpful and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, like when we locked ourselves out of our room, opps.  Our only suggestions for the room would be is to have a mini fridge and maybe a few more wall hangers, because it is rather small, it would have been nice to be able to hang up wet swim suits, small bags/purses, hats and other things.

The hotel is gorgeous. Historic but modern. It was really a treat to stay here. Very clean and well taken care of. It’s in walking distance to the downtown area (and the island is small so pretty much walking distance to everything!).  We did day trips each day and had no issues walking to the water and back a few times a day. Breakfast provided was nice and so was the pool (small but relaxing). The staff was extremely helpful in giving us tourist options (places to go, eat, visit, things to do). They were really there to help us with whatever we needed. If we go to Key West again (which we will because it’s amazing), I will definitely look into staying at this hotel again. Thank you!

Having never visited Key West, I took a long time researching the right hotel for my solo escape on the internet. I was so thrilled to find that I had made the exact right selection upon my arrival. Merlin Guest House is off the main and tucked into it’s own tropical garden. The other guests were chill people like myself. The staff was friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The breakfast by the (tiny) jetted pool was handy and adorable. My room was gorgeous with hard wood and a private outdoor space. I battled a bug or two, but more because it is Florida and not due to a lack of cleanliness. Merlin is affordable, in the middle of it all without being IN THE MIDDLE OF IT ALL (I walked everywhere), it captures the essence of the keys in flora and architecture and it is an easy walk from Five Brothers Grocery (best cafe con leche EVER) and Blue Heaven (must eat restaurant situated outside under banyan trees – think Rainforest Cafe but for reals). Also, chickens. I will return and I highly recommend The Merlin Guest House.

Merlin Guest House was a great play to stay. My wife and I rented a queen size suite. They provided a free bottle of champagne to celebrate my wife’s birthday. They also hooked us up with a fridge in our room even though these room types don’t typically come with them. We met some great people around the pool and were very relaxed when decompressing after busy nights out. My only criticism might be that the breakfast was very limited each morning, but it got the job done!

We have been to Key West five times now and every year we stay at the Key Lime Inn. The Key Lime Inn is beautiful, friendly, clean and conveniently located. Every stay there has been consistent with friendly staff, cleanliness and hospitality. We always get friends to go with us and stay there as well. The breakfast is fantastic and it’s so much fun to sit out around the pool to eat it and visit with other guests. Robert at the desk was very helpful with calling to get us reservations at restaurants and very nice boy. We will be counting our days to our next visit hopefully in April of 2018. Tried another hotel one visit and was very disappointed, so Key Lime Inn is going to be it from now on.

I stayed at the Lighthouse Court Hotel over Memorial Day weekend as I was there for a wedding.  It was nice to have so many wedding guests staying at the hotel because the hotel had plenty of areas for us all to gather.  We especially liked the mojito bar and cornhole.  And it was within walking distance to countless bars and restaurants, a favorite of ours was Blue Heaven. The only complaint I have is very small and I think easy to fix.  We stayed in E3 and the sound of the pool gate slamming shut throughout the day and night became quite annoying.   I hope there’s a way to make it so it doesn’t slam shut, or perhaps you could put up a sign asking people to be mindful that it makes a lot of noise for the nearby rooms. I found the accommodations and staff to be wonderful and attentive.  Thanks for making the weekend one we will never forget.  Already looking forward to our next trip to Key West!

The Merlin Guest House is a lovely hotel on a quaint and quiet piece of property on Simonton Street. Walking distance from Duval Street, and there is a small beach close by as well. The front desk employee, Kenneth, was very welcoming and friendly. Our room was very clean, with high ceilings, comfortable large bed, but most importantly nice and cold! We will be staying here again. For our first trip to Key West, I was extremely pleased with the customer service I received in person, as well as on the phone when I had questions prior to our arrival.
