We had an excellent stay in the Merlin Guesthouse. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Atmosphere with the special style was very relaxing. The room was small but cozy and clean. The open air Breakfast was really good. The location was perfect – calm, one street behind the Duval Street.

We booked our stay here not knowing what to expect except what we saw from the website pictures. Our room/suite was better than we could have hoped-knowing there are much pricier places in Key West. Very comfortable bed, lots of room, private “front porch”, and both AC and ceiling fans, with a nice TV- all made for a comfortable stay after cruising around town all day. We will definitely be back to stay here again!

Danielle handled our multiple unit arrangements without a hitch and all of the staff were professional and friendly.  The pool was ideal, the breakfasts were delicious, the happy hour was appreciated.  The only suggestion is to be diligent in maintenance, especially as it relates to the facade.  One missing rail baluster can degrade the initial impression.  Other than that, I look forward to returning to another HKWI property the next time in KW.

Thanks

I found the Cypress House by accident looking for a 1 night stay while in between reservations at other Key West locations. I read some great reviews online and decided to take a chance. It was New Years week so finding a place that close to Duval for 1 night at a decent price is a challenge. I really liked this hotel a lot!!! The room was small, but had a really cool vibe about it! It wasn’t like a big chain hotel and had a comfort-ability that is hard to describe. I wish I had found it earlier as I would have booked more days. The staff was really nice and very helpful about parking and such. The location couldn’t be any better just of the action of Duval and just out of the way enough for a break from the craziness of it. I will definitely come back and highly recommend it to friends looking for a Key West experience with a twist!!! Great job and thanks!!!

Pluses:  Clean and comfortable. Staff was very cordial and helpful. Convenient to the Duval Street and Old Town activities.

Minuses: Key West really needs to enforce a noise ordinance. Between the scooters and the Harley’s we had vehicles constantly blasting noise into our room at all hours of the day and night.

Lighthouse Court was the perfect location for two Senior Citizens – across from the Hemingway House and within walking distance of Duval St., excellent restaurants, and a trolley stop.  Staff were attentive and courteous, breakfast was ample with a special treat on Christmas morning.

One improvement would be to have a shelf or small stand in the bathroom of senior room providing a place for medicines and toiletries.

We loved our stay here. In fact it was an awesome experience! The staff was wonderfully helpful, the rooms unbelievably comfortable and the swimming pool area-breakfast setting was just awesome.

Mind you, the place is little bit away from Duval street. It was pretty dark at night if you decide to walk back (10-15min), but safe I think. We rented bikes and roamed the whole city that way. It is a waste of typing driving around as parking is very difficult to find in Key West.

The front desk staff recommended some excellent restaurants and places to see. You got to try the Paseo, a Caribbean sandwich place (closed Mon-Tues) about a block away.

I highly recommend staying here if you don’t mind the walking a little bit. Pros are – Good value for money, free street parking and a quiet neighborhood setting. Cons include – smaller sized rooms, no eggs for breakfast.

Highly recommend!

My wife and I traveled with 2 other couples to Key West over Christmas (Dec19-26) for a get away from the snow. We have been to Key West 3 times prior to this over the last 10 years.

The Cypress House was chosen as we stayed at The Lighthouse Court on a previous trip and it was a very nice hotel & part of the same chain of hotels.

We were extremely happy with the Cypress House. The staff there was very friendly from check-in to check-out. We enlisted their help several times for boat rentals, wheelchair rental & recommendations for activities. The hotel has a nice (albeit basic) free breakfast every day, served from 8-10 in the courtyard which is a nice way to start the day. They also have Happy Hour everyday around the pool at 5pm with a different selected drink served free and unlimited every day. This was lots of fun and the staff made the event a party each night.

We stayed in room #17, it was a huge second floor room and had a king bed, flat screen TV and a beautiful bathroom with a walk-in glass shower that would fit 6 people! The room also had a nice front porch to chill One of the other couples we travelled with stayed in room #1 and it was also a large beautiful room with a great big front porch where we met for drinks each afternoon to watch the world go by.

The hotel’s location is absolutely perfect!! Only 2 blocks from Duval and centrally located close to all the action on the water. The only issue may be that this location can be loud (due to morning traffic) however earplugs and/or white noise from the AC does a great job. They also have a parking area for scooters, which we rented for the week at the rental location one block from the hotel.

I highly recommend the Cypress House for couples especially. Lots of fun, great location & friendly staff, plus a little architectural history thrown in for fun.

Cheers!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on 12/24 and 12/25,  and the staff at Lighthouse Court was terrific. Regarding the property, one of our rooms (J2)  was very good, and our suite was not as good.  While the room was clean, it had a musty smell. We enjoyed the local sights, and especially would recommend a bike tour with Lloyd at Moped Hospital.

We had a great visit overall and would stay at the property again.

Thank You
