I have been going to Key West for many, many years and I must have passed the Cypress House countless times. I am so glad that we ended up staying here on our recent trip. Our room was large and quiet which we requested. If you request a room that is not street front, it will be much quieter. The room was clean and spacious. The pool was also fantastic. We spent a whole day just lounging at their pool. Breakfast was more than just continental. They had egg sandwiches and other small hot egg items that changed daily in addition to fruit, oatmeal, cereal, breads, bagels, juice and coffee. I did not make it to any of the happy hours but I was told by a friend that they have a certain amount of alcohol for happy hour and once it is gone, happy hour ends. So get there early if you want to benefit from happy hour! It’s proximity to everything was perfect. We barely needed a cab and we walked most places. In summary, the Cypress House was perfect for us. We are a young couple that likes to party and go out but come back to a relaxing, chill place to sleep. We will absolutely stay there the next time we are in Key West.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Lighthouse Court Hotel. The staff were very friendly everywhere on the property. Our room was superb. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Bartender great! The atmosphere around the rooms is like you are in your own private home. Within 2-3 blocks of great restaurants and Duval street. We will definitely stay here again.

Matthew was particularly responsive to us when we checked in allowing us to choose which King room we preferred. Breakfast was delightful by the pool except hard to balance plate and eat; wasn’t until the last day that we noticed the table and chairs set up under the tent.  Cleaning staff had to be called at 4 pm after we returned from an afternoon out because they had not gotten to the room yet.  Did enjoy the modern facilities in an historic building.  Lots of charm.

We stayed on the second floor. Small room, but very comfortable. It was nice to step out onto the balcony and just feel the sun. Breakfast was nice to have by the pool. Included local pastries, bagels, yogurt, cereal, fruit, eggs. Overall feel of the place was nice, quiet, and relaxing. Glad we chose the Chelsea House for our getaway. Will visit again!

We highly enjoyed our stay. All the staff were extremely nice. We loved the room, the porch, the pool and the “liming” happy hour. Also it’s hard to beat the history of the place and the location. It’s very close to the waterfront and great restaurants like Pepe’s. The only possible downside is that the street outside can be a little noisy when you are sitting on the porch.

We spent 5 days at the Cypress House in March 2015. Staff was amazingly helpful and efficient. Our first night was in a room that we weren’t happy with (too close to the entrance of the main house) and the staff was very accomodating in finding us another room at the back of the hotel with a private patio which was perfect for us! Breakfast and afternoon snacks were great. Also, a nice group of people staying at the hotel. Won’t hesitate to go back next time we’re in the keys!

My first time in Key West and Merlin Guesthouse was great.  Shows the attention to detail.

This was our first time in key west and it was all we were hoping for. The hotel worked out perfectly, was an excellent experience. Lima and the staff were very helpful and courteous upon our arrival – they helped with getting checked in quickly as well as giving us some great recommendations. Location was perfect; centrally located on the island, two blocks from Duval, a block from CVS, and a 5 minute bike ride from anywhere we wanted to visit. The rooms and hotel were very neat and although we didn’t spend a lot of time there, they had a nice pool and rooftop lounge area to relax. All in all a great time, and we would recommend both Key West and The Chelsea House Hotel to anyone interested.

I stayed at Lighthouse Court and rented the lovely Hemingway Suite to get ready for my wedding. It served us well! Great location. Cute area and pool. Excellent mojitos at the bar.
