I just want to say, that I haven’t been to Key West in over 20 years.  It was a pleasure to see it all over again, with fresh eyes. I really appreciated the rustic and historical touches of the Lighthouse Court Hotel.   It was also great to see that Key West has only gained its charm over the years.

My wife and I stayed at the Lighthouse Court Hotel for our anniversary, and we couldn’t have been happier.   The rooms were clean, well lit, modern, and very well situated.   We give it 4.5 stars our of 5.   Only the sometimes low water pressure of the shower kept it from a perfect rating.  But that was probably just a glitch with our room.

It was a pleasure to be near Duval Street, and yet still be far enough away for peace and quiet.   The fact that our hotel had dedicated parking made it that much better!
Located across the street from the Famous Hemingway house, and next door to the beautiful lighthouse – it was easy to get around walking, or using bicycles and scooters.  Each morning we had breakfast by the pool, which was nicely displayed by the courteous hotel staff.   It was beautiful, tropical, and cozy.  We really made some happy memories for the future.

We highly recommend anyone staying in Key West to try the Lighthouse Court, or any of the other Historic Key West Inns hotels.  I know that Key West and the Historic Key West Inns will definitely be included in our future Florida “staycation” plans.

We recently stayed at the Cypress House Hotel. It was a wonderful experience and we would definitely stay there again.

Just returned from 5 days at Key Lime Inn.  It is a great location, in the middle of the island, so one can walk comfortably all over.  Melissa at the front desk was especially helpful to switch rooms as the first room smelled a little smokey. We were give a free standing cottage which was all we wished for: it was very cute, light with a great shower.  I loved being able to make tea in my own room! We will definitely be back!  Thank you Melissa and Key Lime Inn.

Our room was clean and relaxing- the hotel was very charming and the pool was nice and warm. Great location- just far enough away from Duval to keep it quiet and close enough to enjoy. Staff was very friendly- no complaints here!

The Albury Court Hotel was a beautiful  place to stay in Key West. We were there for 3 nights and our room was great. It had been updated but still retained that old charm feeling. The cleaning staff were excellent, our room was cleaned every day while we were out sight seeing and we looked forward to returning to our room every day. Breakfast was wonderful, hard boiled eggs, assorted cereals, fresh from a local bakery bread, muffins, etc. We would sit around the pool to eat or if it was too busy take it back to our porch. The staff for check in and check out were very nice and informative. Pool was warm and the waterfall very nice, there was a bench all the way around the pool so you could sit in the pool, neat idea! We rented a tandem bike and with the hotel’s location, we easily rode to everywhere in Key West, never used our car once. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

We spent Thanksgiving weekend in Key West at Cypress House.  We stayed in a Deluxe King with Porch room on the first floor of the main house.  We spent time trying to figure if it was the original parlor or the original dining room.  The room was very large, and a great combination of the original (floors) and the new (bathroom).  The bed was extremely comfortable, great pillows.  The bathroom is spacious and had great amenities.

The location is really close to Duval Street, and therefore near lots of nightlife – yet that noise is not heard.  It is a busy corner though, so the street noise definitely comes into the room.  Not anything the B&B can do about traffic noise.

Every morning was a nice continental breakfast, with egg sandwiches, local bakery breads, cereals, oatmeal and hard boiled eggs.  I would have liked there to be a breakfast sandwich that didn’t have meat in it.  You chose your food in the kitchen on the 1st floor and then went out onto the covered patio to sit at tables under cover or a table nearer the pool.  Another table or 2 near the pool in the sun might be a good addition.  In the evening, there is “liming hour” with sangria or margaritas as chips/salsa and a hot hors d’oeuvres.  Nice way to transition into dinner time.

The staff is also excellent.  Dennis greeted us when we arrived and was there a lot when we were at breakfast.  The rest of the staff in the office, or cleaning up breakfast, or taking care of the rooms was also friendly.

We will definitely stay here the next time we come to Key West.  We also really liked the fact that it was adults only.

Cypress House was an ideal location for our three days in Key West.  We wanted something close to Duval Street but not in the middle of it.  The location was perfect for a quick walk to Duval as well as Mallory Square to see sunset.  Our room was adorable – full of character from this older home but nicely updated as we had a bathroom with modern amenities and a flat screen TV.  We had room #1 in the gray Cypresswood home.  It’s a lovely room on the first floor with two doors to the front porch – the perfect place to sit and relax after a long day exploring Key West.  Other reviews indicated these front rooms could be noisy as they face the road, and while we could hear light traffic noise, it really wasn’t an issue for us.  The décor is lovely – they did a wonderful job decorating these rooms. The king bed was very comfortable.   There is no closet, but a wardrobe with hanging space and a dresser is available – this was just fine for us.  The small refrigerator in the room was nice to have as well.

The swimming pool is small but the perfect place for a quick dip (probably not ideal for sun bathing because of the trees, but that is not why we were there).  There is a nice outdoor covered seating area where you can enjoy Happy Hour or Breakfast in the mornings.  Everyone associated with Cypress House was very nice and accommodating.  Our friends stayed there as well and we all agreed it was the perfect place.  They stayed in the room right off the pool (room #9 we think), and were delighted how secluded and quiet it was.  You have to park a few blocks down the road, but we were able to park the car when we arrived and did not need again it until we were ready to leave.   The next time we make it back to Key West – we will definitely stay here.   Key West is so full of character – I can’t imagine staying in a regular hotel while visiting this area.

I enjoyed my stay at Albury Court.  It is conveniently located for the trip to the Dry Tortugas.  The room was compact, but comfortable and I slept well there.  The shower in this room was odd in that there was no way to turn the water on without getting into the shower and getting doused with cold water, but I got used to that.  The breakfast was acceptable.  I did plan to have a full breakfast at one of the nice restaurants in the area, only to find that they are all closed Sunday morning.  So plan to eat at the hotel on Sunday.

The biggest problem with the hotel is that there is only street parking, not even for registration.  You have to park on the street.  Once I was registered and had the map of legal parking places, I was fine.  But to register, I had to park illegally (I knew it was instinctively, though I didn’t know why or what to do about it).  Nothing would have started off my vacation rotten like a parking ticket.
