It is a fortunate circumstance that my job brings me to Key West on a regular basis. We usually stay at hotels right on Duval Street or one of the hotels on the east end of the island. This weekend none of our normal options was available but a very helpful lady who works for Signature Aviation at the airport suggested we try one of the Historic Key West Inns hotels. We ended up at the Key Lime Inn. It was our lucky day. We were welcomed like old friends and were delighted to find an atmosphere reminiscent of the old Key West. We were just a very short walk from the attractions of Duval Street but our quarters provided a quiet haven perfect for rest and reflection. The morning call of the roosters and the tolling of the Church bells from across the street were the perfect punctuation to a memorable stay on old Cayo Hueso.

We had a wonderful stay at the Key Lime Inn.  The staff went out of their way to ensure they understood what kind of an experience we wanted and directed us to where we could find it.  Michaela (not sure of the spelling) was friendly and funny.  She made us feel welcome for sure.  Definitely recommend a stay and hope to be back soon!

We had a great 6 night stay in room. The room was super quiet which made for a relaxing vacation. I would definitely recommend the hotel to others. All the staff we encountered was friendly. Great location near Duval! We would definitely come back to the Cypress House Hotel again.

Perhaps it was by chance that I booked this room for 5 glorious nights, but I enjoyed the balcony that enabled me to spend time catching up on my literature, politics and news on my iPad, and just enjoying the waving palm trees above, while sunning in between a dip in the pool or a visit to the hammock below. Linda was my favorite staff member and, of course Jordan who ascended the steps to visit on one occasion. The breakfast was just enough to fuel till the afternoon. My fave resto was La Trattoria on Duval with good food and the most attentive staff I’ve found even in NYC where I live. In all, a restorative and relaxing vacation at a pace and tempo you will like to emulate. Oh, and the skylight above the shower is inspired.

Room was great for our one night stay. Very well cared for and clean. Grounds very nice and breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly and suggest a great place to eat on the afternoon of our arrival. Should we make a return visit will think of your location for sure.

Our room at Merlin Guest House was very quaint and neatly kept.  The housekeeping and staff never conflicted with our stay – we only ran into them to share good morning greetings.  The homemade croissants were amazing!  The Merlin Guest House is not only a wonderful accommodation, but it is centrally located so we could be on Duval St. in a few minutes to enjoy Vino’s or Little Room Jazz, or a few minutes longer to Santiago’s Bodega (the best tapas ever), Seven Fish, Louis’s Backyard, Vino’s for a nice glass of wine.  Or roll out of bed and right across the street over to Duece’s Off the Hook for some succulent oysters.  Thanks Merlin Guest House for helping to make our recent stay memorable – we shall return!

We had a great trip in Key West with our stay at the Merlin Guest House, rooms and grounds were very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.  Very nice breakfast by the pool that was included each morning. Just a short walk to the center of Duval St.

This year was our fourth visit to Key West and our fourth stay at the Merlin Guest House.  We’ve enjoyed the accommodations and the people so much that we’ve never felt the need to stay anywhere else.  The setting is lovely and quiet while being centrally located and only two blocks off Duval.  Rooms are bright, spacious, and clean with many modern upgrades that haven’t detracted from the historical charm. Linda has always been exceptionally helpful with a great sense of humor and Kenneth is super friendly with some great stories.  And, but of course, we adore Jordan!  We recommend the Merlin Guest House to any family/friends visiting Key West along with the Black Fin Bistro for a fantastic meal.  The Afterdeck Bar at Louie’s Backyard is also a lovely setting for a cocktail.
