We had a wonderful time in Key West and the Merlin Guest House was the perfect pick. Great location, quick to get places and quiet at night. The room was beautiful and a great place to begin and end our day! Breakfast was ok, not quite what I expected but would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Merlin Guesthouse. Everyone was friendly, helpful and genuine. We felt very welcome. Our favorites though were, Jordan and Sushi! We cat people were very “at home”. Next time we come to Key West, we’ll definitely stay at the Merlin!

Our favorite was the Santiago Bodega, Tapas, Sangria, and all the food was scrumptious. The ambience exceptional and staff attentive and gracious. Definitely a must when i Key West.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Merlin Guest House. It was very close to Duval Street. The rooms were clean and the people who ran it were very very nice. No complaints. Would definitely stay there again.

It was a pleasure to stay in such an historic property. Well located although parking could be a problem. The staff were very pleasant and the rooms small but quaint and comfortable.

Visit the harbour waterfront. There are great restaurants there and priced well. Must try the Key Lime Pie.

Our one nights stay was wonderful.  The staff were very friendly, and hard working.  Our room was ready earlier than we expected for check-in, and when we were checking out the office staff offered to keep our bag there for the day after our check-out time.  Out of a rating of ten, you all deserve a ten!

Great location. Room was small but adequate. We thought breakfast could be upgraded a bit.

Ken welcomed us graciously and immediately recognized that our bicycles (we’d ridden down from Fort Myers) were too valuable to store anyplace except in our room. The back porch provided a quiet, private retreat while the pool area provided a quiet place where conversations with other guests could be carried on. The quiet street location was nonetheless a convenient walking distance to all that Key West has to offer.

Chinese restaurant about three blocks to the West. Great food, reasonable prices, quiet atmosphere.

The Hemingway House and President Truman’s White House. Even after such a short visit, we can understand how such luminaries could find quiet and inspiration in Key West

My wife and I celebrated our five year anniversary at the Merlin Guesthouse. We were expecting a small old Key West feel, but boy did we underestimate this place! It was beautiful. We spent 90% of our time in the courtyard. We had some cocktails and I smoked a couple of cigars under the beautiful landscape. There are free range chickens and friendly cats on the property as well. Their presence really gave the place a Carribean feel. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room we staid in was #5 at the Merlin. A small room, but everything was tidy and clean. We slept well and had everything we needed in the room. Ice bucket, shampoo, soap etc. We will be returning to Key West this summer and I assure you we will be staying at the Merlin House. You may ready some reviews that the pool at Merlin is small. Yes it is, and it is very private and intimate. We liked the small pool. If you came on vacation to do laps in an olympic size pool, your idea of vacation may be different than ours. Trust me on this, you will not find a better Inn to stay at than the Merlin House. My wife and I promised ourselves that if we ever win the lottery, we are going back to the Merlin House with a check in hand to attempt to purchase this beautiful Old Key West Inn for ourselves. Walking distance to everything. Hemingway house, cigar museum, duval street, southernmost point, all of these locations are within walking distance. When I mean walking distance I mean you could crawl on your hands and knees and still get to these locations within 10 minute walks.

Recommend Sloppy Joe’s and Pete’s Piano Bar. Do not recommend DJ’s clam shack.

We went snorkeling with Fury and had a great time. We went on the sunset trip and the ride back with the sun going down was beyond breathtaking!
