We stayed in a freshly renovated unit all by itself with its own private porch and little white picket fence. We shared a courtyard and gate onto the side road with another unit so sometimes we interrupted their privacy as we passed by, but other than that we did not interfere with each other’s coming and goings. The unit we stayed in was spacious and had plenty of hangers in the closet for our things. The king size bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows to pick from for sleeping comfort. The air conditioner has a remote control which made it easy to change the temperature and fan speed. The AC worked great and made the room cold quickly as needed. We had a Keurig stocked with plenty of single servings. We were pleasantly surprised to have a small refrigerator in the room that kept our beverages ice cold. I had a slushy type drink I stored in the door before I went to bed and it was still icy the next day. I can’t tell you about the TV because we never turned it on.
The splash pool has jets you can turn on, but it was chilled cooler than we cared for to stay in it very long. They told us it is heated in the winter.
Breakfast outside around the pool and under the trees was cozy and comfortable with lots of available tables and chairs. They served local made muffins, bagels, and bread. Also, had an assortment of fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal. They kept up with the coffee – regular and decaf and had hot chocolate & hot tea also available. The orange juice tasted fresh squeezed. You had an option of using ceramic cups or paper to go cups.
Jordan the house cat is a sweetie and loves to lap up a coffee creamer straight from the little cup. He doesn’t jump up on you or beg for affection, so if you are cat adverse – he won’t bother you.

The location was awesome. Just one block behind Duval. Taking the side road from the hotel brought you to the 800 block of Duval which made it easy to go in either direction and get to everything. I would highly recommend a visit to the Wyland Art Gallery – stunning works of art with the artists actually working on their pieces in the Gallery. Also, the Olde Towne Trolley is a great way to see all of Key West and get some history at the same time. They stop in 13 different places and you can get on and off all day with the same ticket. Also, you can purchase a 2nd day for only $10.

I would definitely recommend the Merlin Guesthouse and ask for a unit away from Simonton Street. This gets you away from the traffic and the neighborhood roosters.

We recently stayed at this hotel and we could not have found a better place.  The staff was excellent and very helpful and friendly.  We are already planning another stay asap!   Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

While we stayed at other historic properties, this was our first visit to Cypress House. The room was clean, roomy and the air conditioner worked great! (Important to me). The young lady who checked us in was very friendly (helped with bags).

The happy ‘liming’ hour was a pleasant surprise and breakfast by the pool was a nice layout.

On this trip we wanted to be closer to the square and found your location to be perfect.

This was our first stay at Lighthouse Court Hotel. When we checked in the young woman at the desk….did not get her name was very pleasant and explained everything about the property while highlighting our receipt. When she asked if a room on the second floor was okay we said yes, but we’d need help lugging our bags up the stairs. She grabbed both bags and carried them up the stairs for us! We ran into the young man (can’t remember his name – sorry) later and asked for another luggage rack and he appeared lest than a minute later with one!

We found our room to be small and clean and nicely appointed.  We only needed a place to sleep and shower so small was fine with us.

We could have used a few small shelves….especially  in the bathroom (where there is room for a small side between the sink and the wall)…..for toiletries and a few more places to hang wet suits and towels (behind the bathroom door?).

The air conditioner was loud (they supplied ear plugs but I didn’t mind the hum) but kept the room nice and cool during a steamy weekend.

The bed was really comfy, the shower had nice hot water and good water pressure (yay!), and the supplied beach towels were appreciated.

The café advertised snacks and cocktails but the only snacks I saw were a few bags of potato chips and some not-very-cold sodas.

The breakfast was okay but I would have liked white bread rather than rye or bagels and the hard-boiled eggs had little taste. The croissants had ham and cheese in them to many (vegetarian) guest’s surprise.

The highlight of our first morning was meeting a friendly black cat who we later found out was named Gary Cooper.  The second night we came in at about 11 and called his name. He came trotting over, followed us to our room, jumped on the bed, posed for a few photos, took a cat-bath, said “mrow, mrow” and left to continue his nightly rounds. We are cat lovers, so his visit was welcome.

All in all our stay was pleasant. We wanted a clean room with a good location (we were directly across from Hemingway House) and that’s what we got. We are frequent KW visitors so we’ll probably stay there again.

This hotel has everything you need to enjoy Key West. First is location. Its located one block off Duval Street. Very Quiet. There is a few Scooter rental stores within a block so that is very convenient. Easy access from airport, 10 minutes away.

Next is the hotel itself. We have stayed there quite a few times now and the rooms are all in Great shape. Fresh, no smell and look like they have been freshly remodeled every time we have stayed. They all have AC in them and it works really, really well. They have a Pool, looks good but have never gone in. Their grounds are kept in great shape and the included Breakfast is good, Coffee, OJ, Cereal, Local Bagels, Toast, Fruit and Ham/Cheese thingy’s.

Security is monitored by a Resident Cat named Jordan Del Gato. (Facebook him) He is a friendly sort and can be found making his rounds at night between rooms and the pool area. Think of him as the Old bank security guard sleeping in his chair in a corner.
The Staff, Front Desk and Maids are all very, very friendly and helpful.
The only issue with the Merlin Guesthouse is street parking and rooms are not cheap. Especially the ones we get.( king size room) It can be tough to find a spot. So if you stay, don’t rent a car use a scooter and if you do have a car park it and get a scooter.
The price is in line with every other Inn or Hotel and not as high as the Fancy Hotel chains. We usually get the biggest room we can because we do spend more time in there than say if we were in New York.
So you can find Better, there are a lot of worse places but if the last thing you want to worry about in Key West is your room, Location, Breakfast and Security try the Merlin Guesthouse. You will also love it.

Excellent stay and service at the Key Lime Inn. From the moment we drove in we were impressed with the overall look and feel of the place. The reception staff was great, particularly Michelle, very friendly. They accommodated my room even though I arrived early and settling in quickly. The room was clean, comfy and cozy with great amenities…..loved the soap, and shampoo and pool towels were left for us ready to go. Loved our room and would absolutely stay again without question.

I had a lovely stay at Cypress House while in Key West!
Staff was very friendly! Melissa was super nice and helped us a lot with city instructions, holding our bags & making delicious breakfast. She also let us stay another hour before checkout, which was a great improvement. Thanks a lot, honey 😉

The room was great! Good pool view, excellent bed, great towels and a mountain of pillows. The hotel location is excellent. Less than a 10-minute-walk from Mallory Square and at the corner of Duval Street – where you can find all the stores and restaurants. If you have a chance, stop by Sloopy Joe’s, it’s amazing! Don’t forget to take the city map with you – you’ll receive at the hotel – once getting lost is very easy.
My only regret is staying only one night. So much to see in one night only! But I sure want to come back.

From the moment upon arrival, I am feeling kindness from the front desk to housekeeping. Always polite and friendly. The room I like to stay in is room 16. Clean and fresh. The grounds are kept well. Pool area is clean and inviting. I like the fact the Chelsea House is close to Duffys restaurant, better than sex desserts and the moped hospital where I rent bikes. The breakfast at the pool area is just what I need to start my day. This is the only hotel I stay in when visting Key West. No need to look any further when I am happy with everything.

I cannot begin to express our delight and pleasure with the accommodations at the Cypress House.  It is such a lovely resort and the rooms are comfortable, clean and most of all the location is truly convenient to all the happenings of Key West.  The Resort staff was truly superb in every way and their knowledge and subsequent recommendations of things to do and places to go was top notch!  I will plan my next trip to Key West and put Cypress House at the top of my choices for room accommodations!  By the way, breakfast and happy hour were quite lovely each day and it was great fun to enjoy the quaint surroundings of the resort grounds!!!
