This was my first visit back to the Keys in 17 years and our date of stay was June 4th to June 8th 2014.  I had considered many places to stay but I sure got things right when we chose the Key Lime Inn. It really had that Old Key west feeling with modern amenities .  One of the biggest selling points was free parking and free wi fi. At first there was no spot available for our car but as soon as one was available we were called by the front desk staff and was able to move our car to a spot less than 10 minutes of arrival . The location was outstanding and located close to a great dessert place called Better than Sex.  It was unique dining experience and you will need reservations or have an hour wait.  The INN is also  a midway point between Mallory Square and the Southernmost Point so I felt were we were close to everything the keys had to offer.  We felt totally safe and the staff, as well as the other guests, were very courteous. It was not a party place , but a place to really enjoy your down time and relax .  We had a cottage by the pool and I was worried about it being too loud but it was never an issue.   The staff was great in assisting with taxi service and even  provided us with delivery menus when we needed them for one night. My only sort of disappointment  was that you could not request a room. I had requested 4 different rooms and I received an email that it likely I would get one of the rooms I requested. On arrival I was given 36 and it was not one of the ones I had asked for but I really loved the room and was very  pleased. I think  it is a perfect spot for couples to kick back and relax.  I would recommend this to any friends making plans to go to key west. Also Louie’s After Deck remains one of my favorite spots in the world and it’s in walking distance!

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay. We wanted to visit the Dry Tortugas but hadn’t made reservations yet. We mentioned it at the front desk and they make took care of the arrangements, even loaning us a tube of sunscreen and told us we could use the beach towels that were in our room. When we had a slight problem with the toilet, they took care of it very quickly. Everything was very clean and I will recommend it to anyone, we will stay there again next time we visit. We were very pleased with all the staff they were all very pleasant and helpful. Thank you all.

My wife and I had a wonderful 2 night stay this past weekend. We always enjoy being able to stay at the same place and for the third year in a row got to stay at the same room which has been nice, and happy the staff was able to do it for us. We will be back next year, thanks so much.

My wife and I only stayed there for one night, the facility was located very close to Duval Street, where all the action is at, and all the stores and restaurants. The Hotel was very clean, we enjoyed the breakfast except for the mosquitoes that bit me and the couple odd flies that try to get on my plate since it was an open facility with tables and chairs by the pool area. We had a quiet and peaceful night when we decided to go to bed around 2 a.m.  Parking was a little difficult to get since I had to park three blocks away from the Hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. A really great place to chill out and relax.

One suggestion would be to install two or three shelves in the bathroom between the toilet and wall to assist customers to leave their toiletries bag on them.

Other than that we could not find any other problem.

We will definitely be returning for another holiday.

This was a last minute booking and we could not have been happier. The lady who checked us in was very helpful (young brunette, very friendly) and the location was great. Close to paseo, the bakery, bike rentals, and not a bad walk to duval street.

Loved the fact that we had a little kitchen area, which I didn’t see online. Room was clean, air conditioning was going strong and enjoyed the b&b style/attitude. Space was a little tight but nothing major that we couldn’t deal with. My wife was very happy and I was too.

Thanks!

Hi! My partner and I came to Florida from Switzerland, and visited Key West as part of our trip. We were looking online for a hotel to stay in Key West, and weren’t too happy with the choices that were listed at first.

And then we found Merlin Guesthouse!

The pictures online looked really warm and inviting, and it made the hotel stand out more compared to the others that were listed in our search. We booked it, and looked forward to arriving at Merlin Guesthouse. As we arrived, we were more than surprised, and in a very positive way! The hotel was exactly how it was shown in the pictures and even more! The reception hidden away in a little office amongst the trees and plants,  super cute! The wooden houses kept upright from back in the days, gave it a”homey” feel. Not only on the outside of the building, but also inside the room we had wooden flooring. The room was clean and very welcoming made up. I would have jumped into bed right away because I was so tired, but instead I jumped into the pool because it was so HOT!  Breakfast was outside, poolside.

The location of the guesthouse is also perfect: Close to Duval Street where all the shops and bars are, and close to tourist attractions that are all in walking distance.  I mean almost all of west Key West is within walking distance, and the hotel is located perfectly, more or less, in the middle.

I can only recommend coming to Merlin Guesthouse. Kenneth, who greeted us at reception, made our stay relaxing and enjoyable from beginning to end. We even extended one more night! So, if you are in Key West, come stay at the Merlin! Maybe you’ll bump into Kenneth, or maybe even into Jordan, the hotel cat! :)
