Couldn’t ask for a better location. Close to Duval but quiet. Close to marina district which has some very good restaurants.
It’s not a luxury hotel but the rooms are clean, pool is nice, great breakfasts and the staff is very friendly. If you like something small and quiet this is definitely the place to stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay November 5&6!  Arrived via the ferry boat to Chelsea House around noon – our rooms were ready and hotel staff were excellent!  Check in went smoothly and concierge was available to assist in choosing dining options.

Beds were very comfortable as well as room temperature.

This was my second Historic Key West Inns hotel stay, first at Lighthouse Court.  Will continue to choose one again.

As always, the staff has exceeded my expectations and surprised me in ways unimaginable.

On a recent stay with my nine year old daughter we were greeted like an old friend and even given an unexpected discount for a previous stay. The rooms are always a welcome surprise of quaint old Key West architecture, with comfort and custom carpentry design. Incredibly clean and comforting, we felt right at home without the ebee-jeebees of a typical hotel stay. (I travel a lot on business) The cleaning lady went all out to see that my daughter and I had everything we needed as well as tips and tricks on getting the most out of the island, as did the bartender and the lady preparing the gorgeous setting of breakfast by the pool.

To top off this recent stay, my daughter, Isabella, looked under the door mat to reveal a great cherry topping to our stay. Her name was displayed under the fdoor mat. Artfully designed into the morter with tile chips! Coincidence or Magic?

Represents the best of Key West. Young female bartender at Mojhito Bar was the best.

Staff is always helpful and pleasant. My husband was sick while there and everyone from maid service to front desk was very caring. We could not ask for a better experience.

This was our second stay at Merlin Guesthouse. It is amazing that it is so close to Duval yet so quiet — we love that!

We were impressed at the room updates made since our last visit two years ago. We requested the SAME room and luckily, it was available. The room was perfectly updated — very comfortable, clean and quiet.

The staff was great — all of them very helpful and courteous. We especially appreciated Gail’s help; she was filling in at the front desk. She went out of her way to help us with a boarding pass problem and we appreciate her extra effort. Also, we asked about other room layouts at the Merlin to plan our next visit (October 2016). She explained all the details, showed us photos and described the beautiful room choices. We were so pleased with her help that we decided to upgrade to a one bedroom suite for our next visit; we are already looking forward to it!

We enjoyed the daily patio breakfast, the lovely pool area and the overall attractiveness and good upkeep of the property.

We always come to Key West during Fantasy Fest and like to be able to get away from the craziness for some peace and quiet. The Merlin Guesthouse totally delivers on this and we have recommended it to friends.

We look forward to our next visit!

What my wife and I loved the most was how centrally located the Key Lime Inn was to the “action” that is Key West. A short block and a half walk and you’re on Duval Street. This was our 4th visit to KW and each time we’ve tried a different property with this being one of the top two. When we arrived we were greeted by Michelle at the front desk. She was phenomenal! She gave us the 411 on the property including all the amenities (pool, restrooms, ice and vending machines, etc…) and gave us the lowdown on how they do breakfast every morning. We have our favorite spots for breakfast in KW but this can run you $20 to $30 (for 2 people) each morning. The Key Lime Inn offered a complimentary breakfast by the pool each morning with local bagels, muffins, tea, coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, etc… which over a few days would save you a few pennies. We only got shut out of parking in the main lot one night (Friday) as we got back late but not so worry as their sister property is right next door and we parked in their lot, which is allowed. Most of the rooms that we noticed are away from the main street which is always nice as it cuts down on the noise from the constant flow of cars and scooters. Even the pool, which is directly behind the main building, is somehow shielded from the noise. The hotel is a short 7-8 minute drive to any of the 3 main beaches in KW (Smather’s, Higgins or Fort Zachary Taylor). Both check and check out were a breeze. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice quaint hotel in Key West.
