Special Times To Visit Cypress House Hotel & Key West
The Cypress House Hotel is located in the heart of Old Town, Key West, right where you want to be. It is close enough to Duval street so that you are near all of the action yet far enough away to relax in the quiet of the surrounding neighborhood. The hotel has three historic buildings, circa 1895, all set inside a lush, tropically landscaped property with many comfortable lounging areas. We provide a continental breakfast and refreshments poolside throughout the day. In the evening we host our ‘Liming At Cypress House – The Art of Doing Nothing’. We serve a nightly cocktail and light appetizers poolside at 5pm, perfect snacks to whet your appetite for your evening meal on the town. Any time is of the year is a perfect time to stay at Cypress House Hotel, but here are a few of our favorite events.
Fantasy Fest In Key West – October 21st – 30th
The theme for Fantasy Fest 2016 is ‘Political Voodoo & Ballot Box Barbarians’. This fun fest is a 10-day celebration of zaniness, costumes or elaborate body paint, and lots of events. Each year there is a different theme which means there are a lot of possibilities for costumes! Some fun past events have included the Goombay Festival, a Zombie Bike Ride, a Burlesque Parody, and the Tighty Whitey Party (look out Magic Mike!) All of our 6 Historic Key West Inns hotels are located in walking distance to the Fantasy Zone.
As of June, we still have some availability at these 3 of our boutique hotels. For reservations and information please call 800.549.4430 today!
DJ’s Scott and Jimmy will be at our two hotels in Old Town again here again this year pumping up the party at our Chelsea House Hotel & Merlin Guest House for the Masquerade March. The March is a walking parade for anyone who wants to join, either in costume or not. The parade starts at the Key West Cemetery and takes two different routes to Duval Street. Luckily, we have hotels on both routes! The Truman Avenue March goes past our Chelsea House Hotel and the Fleming Street March goes past our Merlin Guest House and at both hotels we set up a bar that serves our coveted rum punch! This is always a really crowded and fun event and we never know exactly how much punch to make……so we just make a lot!!! We never have leftovers and everyone dances away feeling verrry happy! The Cypress House Hotel is a great place to relax before you head out for the evening or return to when you need a break to refuel and change costumes!
Fantasy Fest Parade
The famous Fantasy Fest Parade follows on Saturday night. Join 70,000 of your friends as it heads down Duval street with outrageous costumes, fabulous floats, dancers and the music makers. It’s a wild and crazy time! Many wonderful restaurants and Key West’s nightlife are a short walk from the hotel.
Christmas In Key West – December
Key West at Christmastime is tropically magical and beautifully enchanting. Come join us as we hop on a bicycle, or an Old Town Trolley, to tour the island, oohing and aahing at all of the wonderful homes and hotels all decked out for the season. It is always a good start to boost your Christmas cheer when you join the fun.
Each year we have fun decorating the Cypress House each year and have had many local artists help in the design. In past years we have had Ann Lorraine design the Christmas decorations . She is well-known in Key West for her award-winning Fantasy Fest costumes and for her work as window and float designer for Fast Buck Freddie’s department store.
New Year’s Eve In Key West: December 31st
