Key West is a perfect location for your wedding or commitment ceremony. Large or small, grand or simple, Key West can provide a beautiful setting and all the services you need for a memorable event.
Wedding Requirements:
Both bride and groom must be 18 or older and have a Florida marriage license to be married in Key West.
You can bring a marriage license issued by another county in Florida, or get a marriage license in Key West at the County Clerk’s office located at 500 Whitehead Street. The Clerk’s office is open on weekdays only. There is no waiting period for non-residents. Florida residents may waive the waiting period, which is normally three days. No blood tests are required. The fee is $88.50. If either party is divorced or widowed, the date of divorce or death will be required.
You can be married at the Clerk’s office for a $20 fee. Otherwise, a Public Notary or Ordained Minister may perform the ceremony anywhere on the island or on the water. Some of the most popular locations for ceremonies include the beach at Ft Zachary Taylor State Park, the Hemingway House, Audubon House, Key West Lighthouse, on a sunset sail (private charter or party boat), a local hotel, or a local church.
There are several businesses in town that specialize in arrangements for Key West weddings. They can arrange ceremony locations, receptions, music, flowers, photography, and any other logistics that you are in need of assistance with.
