Arts & Culture
Jazz, classical, country, opera, soca, pop, etc. are all heard around the island. Live music is playing nearly every day at several bars along Duval and the harbor-front including Margaritaville, Sloppy Joe’s, Hogsbreath Saloon, La Te Da, Schooner Wharf Bar, Pier House, and more. The South Florida Symphony Orchestra, Pops, and Island Opera have performance dates primarily between Christmas and April. Please check our blog for upcoming events and performances.
Maestra Sabrina Alfonso has created a first-class symphony for our cultured Key West community. Each year we enjoy several awe-inspiring compositions in the Master Concert Series which run from October through May.
Old Town Key West has an elegant, Art Deco style movie house which plays new mainstream and independent film releases on four silver screens. It has been rated ‘Best Cinema in Florida’ several times and you can enjoy beer or wine with your popcorn.
Key West has several performance spaces and shows happening throughout the year. Visit keystix.ticketforce.com for show dates and tickets.
There are many galleries along Duval Street and Greene Street that feature the works of local artists and others. One of our favorites is Lucky Street Gallery on Greene Street. In April there is an outdoor art fair along Whitehead Street, and rotating exhibits at the Customs House Museum.
Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum

This is where Hemingway lived in the 1930’s and where he wrote several novels. Lighthouse Court Key West is right across the street at 902 Whitehead Street. The home is open daily for tours.
Key West Lighthouse Museum

As cool as lighthouses get, you can climb to the top (or not) for spectacular views of Key West.
