Merlin Guest House – Great Time And Memories

This was our second stay in our favorite room. We love the neighborhood location. We really enjoyed getting to know Kenneth. He gave us and a lot of other vacationers good ideas for restaurants and places to see. He showed us a couple larger rooms in case we want to request one of those extra time. My husband is one of Jordan’s biggest fans & made sure he always had treats for him. Great time & memories.

Merlin Guest House – Excellent Stay

Thank you so much for the wonderful stay at the Merlin Guest House. In the past, I have also had a nice stay at their Chelsea House. You’re historic hotels are the best way to experience the history and hospitality of Old Key West. I look forward to staying again in the future!

Merlin Guest House – Perfect For What We Were Looking For

I was searching for hotels online for a one night stay in Key West for the weekend when I happened to come across the Merlin Guest House. Being that I usually stay at well known, bigger hotels, I was skeptical about staying at a more smaller, privately owned guest house. After reading many reviews online about the Merlin, I went ahead and booked an economy queen guest room for my girl friend and I to stay in for the weekend. Upon arriving at the guest house, the streets were PACKED with cars, which isn’t unusual for a Key West weekend.

Fortunately for us, the Merlin Guest House has a private parking lot in the rear of their property for Merlin guests to park in, with a fee of $10.00 per night, which is totally worth not having to park and walk to your car 10 blocks down to find a spot (but beware – if you have a  truck you will probably have a VERY hard time getting in and out of the parking lot and back onto the street, it is SMALL ). After parking in the private parking area, we than went to check in, which was a very easy process and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We were given a key to our room. Knowing that this was an economy queen room we weren’t expecting much, the name says it all. BUT, although it was small, it was perfect for what we were looking for. The beds were clean, floor was the original, historic dark wood and creaked a little bit, and the bathroom was small but accommodated us very well. Instead of using cheap shampoo, condition, and soap like most hotels, they give you quality organic supplies and you don’t feel dry when coming out of the shower.  The walk from the hotel to Duval street is perfect, it will literally take you 1 minute from the time you lock your door to the time you hit the corner of Duval, which is one of the very main reasons I chose this hotel was because of the distance and how close it was to everything you could imagine, scooter rentals, shopping, bars, and a delicious desert restaurant that everyone should try called Better Than Sex.

The hotel staff did make us aware that there was a breakfast in the morning near the pool, however after being out on Duval all night I woke up to late for that.

I would recommend this hotel and the economy queen guest room to anyone looking to stay in Key West right on Duval that is travelling with two or less people.

Merlin Guest House – Hard To Leave

My husband and I recently stayed for 2 blissful nights at the Merlin Guest House. It was my first time to Key West, and the stay at this lovely property was the icing on the cake.

It’s proximity to the frenetic Duval Street is great! Just a five minute walk and you are in the middle of great bars, restaurants, and shops. Even better is having a short walk back to the guest house after enjoying all that the area has to offer.

The grounds are gorgeous and our room was perfect. Enjoying one of those afternoon Summer downpours from the porch was wonderful. Listening to the birds as you have breakfast under the canopy of trees makes you close your eyes, breath deeply, and smile from the inside out. You can’t help but relax here…so grab your flip flops and stay a while.

Merlin Guest House – Locals Loved It

We stayed at the Merlin Guest House almost a month ago and had amazing stay. I have lived here for 4 years and wanted to plan a little getaway for my wife for our anniversary. 3 years ago when we first got together we stumbled into the pool area late one night on our drunken walk home and maybe had too much fun in the pool as we were told on the way out we almost got called on for trespassing. Which I do apologize for, that’s not like me. I knew it was something special with that girl…well 3 years and a marriage later here we are! So I of course booked a room at the Merlin Guest House as it has been a laughable memory that we never will forget and was the staple to our first night hanging out which led to us being madly in love.

We absolutely loved our stay! The property is just beautiful and pristine! We almost didn’t want to return home right down the road 🙂 Kenny the guy at the front was more than accommodating! He found out it was our anniversary so he was able to upgrade us to almost like our own little apartment with private balcony! We literally had so much fun that night and just enjoyed pretending like we were young, dumb, and falling in love all over again! We both work in very popular restaurants here and better believe I will def be recommending Merlin to people. The prices were great for key west and beautiful place to stay with awesome employees! Can’t beat the location and the friendly cat that’s there!

Again we thank you for a great anniversary night for two locals who just wanted time away from their reality of home. We plan to try and make little getaways like that more often since we had the best time, so will def be looking at your other boutique hotels! So glad we were able to use the pool properly this time! Thanks again for everything!
