Merlin Guest House – Best Place To Stay

My husband and I stayed at the Merlin Guest House for 2 nights and had the best time. It was so quiet and peaceful for being such a busy place. We really enjoyed the pool and the hammock to lay in. The adorable resident cat even made us feel more at home. Thank you for a great get away!

Merlin Guest House – Authenticity At It's Best

So, my girlfriend and I decide to get away for the weekend! Yay! and I book this so called 4 star Resort (I thought I’d impress her), only to check out 5 minutes later (she refused to say there), we won’t name names, but it rhymes with…….no, really we won’t do that, but to go on.

My girlfriend says to me, “Hey!!! 30 years ago when I would frequent Key West I would stay at this really chill place called the Merlin Guest House, let’s see if they’re still around” and she googled and sure enough it still existed.

She called, Ebony answers “Yes, we have a room for you” (btw this was around 8pm), she was awesome we were kinda worried we would have to sleep in the airport or take out a home equity line for a last minute hotel room,  but Ebony took care of us . When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised , I knew I was in the Real Key West, it’s such an authentic boutique hotel, it doesn’t feel like a hotel, it feels like you’re part of something, you’re a neighbor.

It’s one block off from Duval Street, but it feels like a neighborhood. Our room was spacious, clean, high ceilings and we had a porch with tables and chairs where we sipped our morning coffee amongst tropical lush garden, it was really cool. It was really special. Linda checked us out and she treated us like family. WE WILL BE BACK!!!! Never change!!! Merlin you left us with a little of your magic and we can not THANK YOU enough. Till soon..very soon.

Merlin Guest House – Hidden Gem!!!

What a great boutique hotel! Staff was super attentive. Linda was super helpful when booking and during our stay. It was in such a great location and so charming! Clean and beautiful room with vaulted ceiling! The bed was so comfortable! Across the street from one of the best restaurants in Key West, Off The Hook. I will definitely be back again!

Merlin Guest House – Wonderful Hotel With Great Location

First visit to Key West and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our selection of accommodations.  The Merlin Guest House was in the perfect location for walking everywhere.  We parked the car on the side street right next to the hotel and left it there as didn’t need to drive at all.  The room was as described, very spacious & clean.  The bath was quite large and a pleasant surprise.  Loved having our own deck with table & chairs that overlooked the pool.  Nice grounds & pool area.  Only improvement would be to the breakfast by adding more fruit options and making sure the “hot” water was hot rather than lukewarm.

Merlin Guest House – Idyllic

Four our fifth (!) trip to Key West we eventually brought a couple of friends along. We booked the room at Merlin Guest House, which is actually a 2 stories, 2 bedrooms suite with a particularly spacious and well-sorted bathroom, perfectly suited for a shared use. The staff at check-in and check-out was particularly friendly and helpful, the garden and the pool exactly as displayed on the website. The continental breakfast was OK : good, fresh backeries, jam, etc, and coffee above US standards. Our only remark would concern the A/C units (independents in each B/R), which, although perfectly functional, were a little too noisy for a nightly use. Our solution : refrigerate as much as possible while going out for dinner and switch off during your sleep, + open the window to get some fresh air. Probably not feasible in the summertime, but fine with November weather.

We had a wonderful time the accommodations were better than we expected, especially since we were upgraded.

Linda in the office was more than helpful with directions places to eat And whatever we needed!!

The brunch and coffee was very good!!  The locally made ham and cheese croissants were awesome.

The only regret is that we didn’t stay longer .

We loved Jordan the cat, he is very sweet !!

Merlin Guest House – Schönes Hästehaus In Zentraler Lage

Merlin Guest House – Pure Relaxation!!!

Traveling with a toddler is never easy but the staff at Merlin Guest House exceeded in welcoming our family! Our little one was greeted by name daily and was even allowed to help feed Jordan, the cat, and the fish. Our morning swim was fabulous as the staff always stopped to say hi and play and never minded the splashes Giada gave them in return. Morning coffee and breakfast with other guests made the stay feel as if you were among family. Quiet and relaxing yet steps away from bustling Duval St., the perfect blend for a fabulous long weekend.

Merlin Guest House was cozy, exceptionally clean, and provided impeccable service. Can’t wait until we return next year!!!!
