FANTASTIC!!

My wife and I celebrated our five year anniversary at the Merlin Guesthouse. We were expecting a small old Key West feel, but boy did we underestimate this place! It was beautiful. We spent 90% of our time in the courtyard. We had some cocktails and I smoked a couple of cigars under the beautiful landscape. There are free range chickens and friendly cats on the property as well. Their presence really gave the place a Carribean feel. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room we staid in was #5 at the Merlin. A small room, but everything was tidy and clean. We slept well and had everything we needed in the room. Ice bucket, shampoo, soap etc. We will be returning to Key West this summer and I assure you we will be staying at the Merlin House. You may ready some reviews that the pool at Merlin is small. Yes it is, and it is very private and intimate. We liked the small pool. If you came on vacation to do laps in an olympic size pool, your idea of vacation may be different than ours. Trust me on this, you will not find a better Inn to stay at than the Merlin House. My wife and I promised ourselves that if we ever win the lottery, we are going back to the Merlin House with a check in hand to attempt to purchase this beautiful Old Key West Inn for ourselves. Walking distance to everything. Hemingway house, cigar museum, duval street, southernmost point, all of these locations are within walking distance. When I mean walking distance I mean you could crawl on your hands and knees and still get to these locations within 10 minute walks.

Recommend Sloppy Joe’s and Pete’s Piano Bar. Do not recommend DJ’s clam shack.

Truly Enjoyable!

Even though we only stayed for one night…It was awesome! The staff were extra-friendly & helpful! Our room was beautiful and I enjoyed eating a mango that fell out of the tree by our door!

We went snorkeling with Fury and had a great time. We went on the sunset trip and the ride back with the sun going down was beyond breathtaking!

Merlin Love!

In 7 visits to the Conch Republic, 4 of my stays have been at the Merlin Guesthouse. The location is ideal. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool area is awesome. The resident kitties and chickens were added entertainment.
