We had a marvelous time at the Chelsea House. Right from the beginning we received a very warm welcome from Betsy, front desk. She was extremely helpful in explaining all the amenities of the hotel and gave us great recommendations for dining. We stayed at room 24C, which was all the way on the top floor. It did have some steep steps to get to our room, but it was great exercise and the view we had from the balcony area was worth the steps. Our room was simple but very clean and was more than sufficient for our needs. The breakfast was superb, bread, bagels, croissant, yogurt, fruits, juice, cereal, coffee and tea, and they did not skimp, the servers were constantly attentive to the breakfast area ensuring there was enough supply and everything was kept very clean. The breakfast was served by the pool, which gives a nice ambiance.
There was a nice pool, which we did not use, but there were a few other guests that we saw using. The hotel is 2 blocks from Duval Street, once on Duval there are about 5 blocks before you get into the busy area of downtown. We really enjoyed and highly recommend 915 Duval Restaurant which Besty recommended to us. It was amazing! We also enjoyed Caroline’s and of course our all time favorite Sloppy Joe’s for late night music and fun.
Overall, we had a great time and would stay at the Chelsea House again, although, I think we may try their sister hotel, Key Lime Inn, next door just for a change and see how that compares. Thank you, Betsy, and the Chelsea House staff for all the thoughtfulness and attentiveness to your guests.By: Anthony and Sandra PetrucciAugust 21, 2013
