We arrived in Key West and, unfortunately, stayed in another hotel before the Chelsea House. As soon as we realized we made a mistake, I embarked in finding the ideal place the first day and walked to view 3 to 4 hotels. And I did find it: The Chelsea House. The architecture of the hotel is nostalgic: Victorian, Queen Anne structure individual large homes. Our room had several windows which invites the precious light of Key West into the room if venetian’s are semi open.
It has a professional staff and a friendly manager who made the introduction to the hotel friendly, easy and accessible. It provides free parking space under a shaded area beside the hotel. The room is large, its King size bed is a true king side bed with excellent mattress and the four post that rise above the bed frame compliments the exquisite decoration of an antique and delicate chandelier above the bed.
The hotel is pet friendly, quiet and private but close enough to Duval Street. The air conditioning maintains a balanced temperature and the furniture in room is minimalist with a settee bench and a King Arthur style cabinet for TV.
The outside staff is discreet, especially a gardener who quietly goes about pruning the garden. We were able to enjoy a wonderful evening, while participating in the festivities, have fun and relax with a good night’s sleep.
I am glad I took the time the day before to find Chelsea House. It is a place in Key West to return over and over again.
