My wife and I planned our visit to Key West last fall. We found the Chelsea House Hotel online and investigated. We were interested in staying close to downtown and the idea of a historic hotel sounded great. We liked the vibe from the first phone call to get information, and decided to book 5 nights in February in a suite. We checked in 2/18. The process was easy and the staff excellent.
The room was generous in size and on the second floor. As far as the comfort in the room, no complaints. We asked for softer pillows and Dennis accommodated. The breakfast offered all the usual choices in a continental set up, and we enjoyed eating around the pool. The office staff was helpful with information about sites to visit, and we did hit the main attractions; Hemingway House, Truman’s White House, Mel Fisher’s museum, Sunset at Mallory Square, Conch Trolley, all the music offerings at the local taverns, and the Lighthouse Museum. We enjoyed a couple drinks and Key Lime Pie at their sister Lighthouse Court Hotel, and the beach at Fort Zachery.
The housekeeping staff were very friendly and did a great job with the room. We rested in our room when we needed a quiet break and sat on the balcony. Key West was fun and funky with great historical presence. So the Chelsea was ideal for us. We walked everywhere, except to Fort Zachery. We do recommend the Chelsea House Hotel and would stay there again. Hopefully we will get another chance to visit KW!By: Rick R. March 3, 2016
