Unfortunately for us, we only stayed one night at the Cypress House. Our group of 6 (3 couples) all agreed that the hotel and staff was so nice, we wished we had allocated more time to stay. The location is perfect, I believe being only one or two blocks from Duval St.
Our room was downstairs with a nice porch and comfortable chairs to lounge on. Inside, the room was huge, very clean, and nicely decorated, making one feel right at home. Lots of old style charm. If you like late 18th century architecture, this place has it! The bathroom appeared to have been updated fairly recently and was also very nice/clean.
Breakfast was plenty adequate with a nice selection and variety. All of the staff was super nice, but I was especially impressed with Chris. He was so attentive that he saw me swatting mosquitoes while I was having breakfast by the pool and immediately brought me some repellant. I didn’t even expect that! No worries about mosquitoes for most folks. I’m one of those unfortunates that seem to attract them. No one else in my group had a problem.
We hope to someday make it back to Key West and will definitely stay at the Cypress House.By: Mike & Cathy Gee on June 22, 2015
