We stayed at the Cypress House from Saturday Feb 28 to Mar 5. It was a great vacation week. We are from Naples and while I’ve traveled to Key West for many years on “man-cations” this was the first time for my girlfriend and I. I try to stay in different hotels and B&Bs in Key West each time I go because each is so different and unique.
I must say, without a doubt, the Cypress House is BY FAR, one of the nicest B&Bs I’ve ever stayed at in Key West. INCREDIBLY simple things that meant a TON to a seasoned KW vacationer and a newbie. AWESOME breakfast and “liming hour”. This is the 1st B&B that has a “real” breakfast. Not plastic wrapped pastries, stale bagels, and watery coffee. “Liming” hour is a concept we brought back to Naples and now incorporate into our day after work. The staff (especially when we checked in – Scott and Chris) were always VERY attentive and constantly asking if there was anything they could do to make our stay better. Room and housekeeping were attentive as needed. We were in the main house (room #1). The only 2 minor constructive feedback points I would have is that I was hoping the kitchen would be open (at least to the inside house guests 24×7) but it was locked on both sides at night. I get it – but it would have been nice to borrow the main fridge for large leftovers that didn’t fit in the room fridge. Also, nice to have access to wine/champagne glasses. Second – would have liked the main doors to the house to be locked at night – not just closed. We felt very safe but it was also spring break week and there were more than a few “unruly youths” passing by the Inn that concerned my girlfriend a couple times. Overall, outstanding. I would like to visit 1 of their other historic key west inns hotels as well but could def see ourselves returning to the Cypress House. Thanks for the great memories.By: Dale Bondanza March 9, 2015
