My husband & I stayed at Cypress House from October 16-18 to celebrate our anniversary and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We live in South Florida and took a leisurely drive down the Overseas Highway, enjoying the beautiful vistas along the way. We had both been to Key West numerous times before, but never had the opportunity to visit together until now. The staff were exceedingly helpful, from helping to show us around the property, to recommendations for dinner and things to do around town. The room was beautifully appointed and we were given a 1st floor unit as had been requested. The hotel couldn’t have been in a better location as it is just a block from Duval Street. Needless to say, once we parked our car upon arrival, we never used it again until the morning we (reluctantly) checked out. They offered a nice assortment of food for breakfast, as well as the daily afternoon “liming” which one of the staff happily informed us that it is a Caribbean term for ‘the art of doing nothing’ and so agrees the Urban Dictionary:
The concept of liming encompasses any leisure activity entailing the sharing of food and drink, the exchange of tall stories, jokes and anecdotes etc., provided the activity has no explicit purpose beyond itself.
What more could we have asked for?? For those who know Key West, this is exactly the experience you want while visiting. We made some new friends, had many laughs, as well as great food & drinks and cannot wait until we have the chance to visit again.By: Michelle & John Breder on November 13, 2015
