My wife and I had a great time staying at the Cypress House Hotel again! This is our third year in a row, and we’ll be back. We know some of the staff now who greet us by name and enjoy not just being another guest, but more a part of the Cypress House family. Dennis and the rest of the staff were great as usual. We had a bottle of Prosecco provided upon checkin for our anniversary, and Danielle even accommodated our “main dish” breakfast requests several mornings during our stay. Prior to our arrival, she extended a room upgrade though we declined the gracious offer (we love our normal room). We enjoy the friendliness of the staff, the quaintness and proximity of the location and the cleanliness of the rooms and grounds. Breakfast around the pool and under the palms is only rivaled by Liming in the afternoon. I did notice that the Cypress House is now a hotel. I would consider it a boutique hotel (if you’re going to call it a hotel), but nothing like the mega resorts around town. At this point, I think the property should continue to monitor the small details that make it unique and think about other ways to continue to enhance the guest experience. One idea is to have a shuttle service from the airport. Just when you think the taxi service in Key West can’t get any worse, it does. You get to paradise and you’re shuffled in a line at the airport to be picked by the next taxi in the queue. Our driver needed a shower, a personality and a clean car. Small details are where it’s at, maybe even hire a director of first impressions.
Thank you for your hospitality, we had a great time, and can’t wait to see you again!By: Tim Evans on May 16, 2016
