Where to begin…
This year, my boyfriend and I took our first vacation alone together. We had been planning for months and were very excited. We arrived to the Key Lime Inn where we were greeted by very friendly front desk staff on a Monday afternoon. We spent the rest of the day shopping and had a wonderful dinner at the Conch Republic Seafood Company.
The next morning, while getting ready for the day, my boyfriend had a seizure. He has never had a seizure before I was terrified. I called 911 who immediately came to retrieve him. While still in shock and trying to figure out where the hospital was even located, I received a call from the front desk. The woman was extremely sweet. She informed me that she had gotten me a cab and it was waiting outside. I was more than grateful.
We got back from the ER late that afternoon. I will admit I was slightly freaked out even being in the same room where his seizure happened. When we returned, the amount of care and concern from the hotel staff was more than I could have ever imagined. Everyone was so wonderful. Anytime they saw us for the next two days they went out of their way to ask us how were doing and see how my boyfriend was feeling. They even gave me some fruit the day we got back as my boyfriend hadn’t eaten.
One staff member my boyfriend and I will never forget was Clement. He went out of his way numerous times just to say hello and make sure we were doing okay. He really made us feel welcome. Check out was also great, the women at the front desk were sweet and even wrote my boyfriend a postcard.
After everything that happened, my boyfriend and I felt like we would never want to go Key West or the Key Lime Inn again in order to forget the memory of his seizure, but after the AMAZING service and genuine care and concern we received from the employees we would be crazy not to.
Thank you Key Lime Inn. You made a very scary experience for my boyfriend and I a little more comfortable. You made us feel like appreciated guests. It is scary to be away from other family and friends when incidents like this occur but the Key Lime Inn staff treated us with the same kindness and care that family would.By: Melinda Smith on May 13, 2014
